Position Responsibilities: 

Provides leadership and guidance for multiple projects simultaneously.Ensures that each project has project scope, objectives, milestones, project plans, issue tracking, milestones and issues.Works with Project Leads on a regular basis to ensure progress and communication on projectProvides leadership to the entire LIS team while mentoring and directly managing the Project Leads.Ensures that appropriate tasks are set for the scheduling, delivery, testing and implementation steps associated with software fixes, and/or customizations for Clinical Applications. Is point of contact for issues and escalates to higher level management when appropriate.Ensures that workflows for clinical and business processes are incorporated into the project and work plans for all projects.Facilitates workflow and/or requirement sessions and coaches others on how to facilitate these sessions.Maintains constant and effective interaction with representative hospital user departments and user groups that use the Lab Information Systems software. Meet regularly with the LIS/IT Management staff to keep them up to date on the progress of projects and issues.Develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, budgets and status reports.Holds regular meetings with LIS staff to discuss project plans, time lines, issues, and status of projects and systems.Assist in the development of LIS Best Practice policies and monitors compliance with those policies for the Clinical Team.Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality and client satisfaction goals.Monitors productivity of staff and develops innovative methods to increase productivity without sacrificing quality.Communicates effectively with hospital staff and LIS/IT staff. Keeps abreast of the latest developments in technology and recommends changes in hardware/software in an effort to meet the needs of the Medical Center.Attends the PI/QA meetings and presents issues, projects and incidents involving LIS.Meets with the Administrative Director of Clinical Pathology on a weekly basis for updates and issues involving LIS.

Qualifications:

BS in Computer Science or Medical Technology8+ years in laboratory information technology or medical technology or management
