Apple is seeking a Manager/Lead Data Architect to join our Data Management Office as part of our Worldwide Sales organization. In this position, you will lead a diverse team of individuals responsible for designing and influencing the development of a data architecture, including the vision, strategy, and principles for managing and interacting with governed data. You will partner cross-functionally to drive data resource development based on business needs and architecture principles to support a broad, cohesive strategy. Through your influence, you will play a critical part in driving our technology vision forward for years to come. **Description** In this role, you will: - Collaborate with the Data Governance team to provide a standard common business vocabulary, express strategic data requirements, outline high level integrated designs to meet these requirements, and align with enterprise strategy and related business architecture - Define best practices, evangelize data solutions, and influence adoption - Manage data as a critical asset across several business units - Define a robust and scalable data architecture to manage data according to formal concepts, principles, and techniques within the governance platform - Facilitate and promote the design and development of high-quality data resources within the data architecture to meet current and future business data and information needs - As the team grows, build a team of technical resources responsible for the details of data resource design, development, and delivery of managed data - Provide encouragement and support to team members, including communicating individual and team goals, identifying areas for mentoring and guidance, and implementing development programs for the team to build vital skills and knowledge to achieve performance targets - Facilitate cooperation and coordination between functional and technical resources, ensuring data assets are designed and developed from business needs, to logical design, to physical implementation - Collaborate with other IT teams for the design, development, and implementation of enterprise information data models, data flows, data life cycle, and overall data management leading practices in a complex environment - Drive decision-making processes to align with business priorities and objectives related to key architecture solutions - Research emerging technology trends, new models, vendor solutions and market opportunities to identify potential industry disruptors that could help the organization dominate their position in the market - Proactively communicate data methodology, architecture, and results to a diverse set of stakeholders - Increase adoption of DMO’s data management solutions within broader IT projects **Minimum Qualifications** + Typically requires minimum of 12+ years of related experience + 5+ years of people leadership experience in data architecture, data management solutions, and/or similar field driving business transformation + Significant background in data governance, including designing and implementing master data, governance workflows, and platforms (e.g., Informatica, Alation, Collibra, Ataccama, Talentd, etc.) + Experience with data catalog, metadata management, and data discoverability + Deep expertise in architecting and delivering infrastructure and services in public cloud environments (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure) + Knowledge of large scale data architectures and/or cloud data warehouse solutions (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Azure, etc.) + Expert understanding of data models, database schemas, and optimization in domain driven design + Strong understanding of data products and data services + Familiarity with data exchange and interoperability, micro-services, and/or API's + Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience **Key Qualifications** **Preferred Qualifications** + Excellent collaboration and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence cross-functionally, navigate organizational structures, and manage complex relationships + Deep business acumen, strategic planning, and decision making skills; Forward-thinking mindset to analyze the market beyond the short term, foresee possibilities, and translate data to plans, strategies, and action. + Background in data engineering, data quality, and observability is highly preferred + Experience with SDLC and project delivery methodologies (e.g., Agile or Scrum) is a plus + Familiarity with Marketing and Sales business workflows and applications is a plus + Ability to build, lead, and develop inclusive teams and attract and retain talent through performance management, coaching, guidance, and support + Outstanding communication and presentation skills + Ability to motivate and inspire others, articulate vision and purpose, and advocate for Apple’s values + Passion for continuous improvement with the curiosity to uncover gaps, resilience to navigate ambiguity, and drive to create solutions for complex data management problems **Education & Experience** **Additional Requirements** **Pay & Benefits** + At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $219,300 and $329,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
