Manager Learning and Development

From creating the home standby generator market category, to our current evolution into an energy technology solutions company, we continue to push new boundaries. **Primary Purpose** The Manager of Learning and Development is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, evaluating, and managing innovative learning and development programs for all company levels in support of the Talent and Organizational strategies. Collaborates with the team, business, and HR leadership to proactively identify opportunities to utilize learning to enhance business processes, optimize performance, and increase skills and leadership capabilities across the enterprise. Oversees the Learning Management System (LMS), including proper system set-up, managing online content creation, assigning curriculum, and reporting on course completion. **Major Responsibilities** **Learning & Development** + Assist in developing learning strategies in collaboration with stakeholders to support company objectives and build organizational capabilities. + Conduct gap analysis and meet with cross-functional teams to identify needs and offer learning and development solutions. + Create and deliver learning programs and content following proven adult learning principles. + Drive awareness and learning program engagement through effective communication, including program announcements and marketing materials. **Systems & Processes** + Oversee structure, maintenance, and administration of the Learning Management System (Workday Learning). + Design and implement evaluations, metrics, and ROI to assess the effectiveness and adoption of expected behaviors. Make recommendations based on their findings. **Leadership** + Apply and maintain knowledge of current training and development methods and techniques. + Design and direct the work of the team. Selects, coaches, and develops staff. Sets clear expectations to inspire and motivate the team. Manage performance-- recognizing achievement, providing feedback, and coaching when necessary. **Program/Vendor Management** + Manage existing internal and external learning programs, including working with vendor partners. + Research third-party content providers and other external groups as needed. Provide recommendations to meet project goals. + Continually monitor the effectiveness of the programs; recommend new approaches to improve, update, or enhance services offered. **Minimum Job Requirements** **Education** + Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience **Work Experience** + 5 years of progressive experience in learning and development, training, or talent management capacity + 2 years of leadership experience **Knowledge / Skills / Abilities** + Excellent written and verbal communication skills + Instructional design skills with the ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio, and video scripts + Understanding of online authoring tools such as Articulate 360 and/or other (SCORM, AICC) eLearning authoring formats + Ability to present a wide range of content or facilitate discussions in a classroom setting. + Project and change management skills with the ability to lead projects on time, within budget, and to meet expectations. + Strong consulting and analytical skills with the ability to assess business and human performance goals and gaps using qualitative and quantitative factors. + Highly organized with attention to detail + Strong team leadership skills + Ability to build and sustain professional relationships at all organizational levels. + Knowledge of MS Office suite **Preferred Job Requirements** **Work Experience** + Experience in developing comprehensive adult learning programs to advance and sustain learning. + Experience with Workday implementation and administration + Experience working in a global enterprise **Physical Requirements and Working Conditions** **_Office Environment (Includes field sales):_** While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion, the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel. **Physical Demands** : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds.
