Job Summary

This role assists the Licensing department with achieving its brand and revenue objectives. Through reporting, analysis, and the efficient coordination of communication between Carhartt and licensees on sales, marketing, and product, this role assists in identification of licensing opportunities and cultivation of strong relationships with licensees that build brand equity.

Representative Responsibilities

Coach, mentor, and develop ​Associate Licensing Specialist​.   Partner with internal teams (sales, product, merchandising, etc.) and licensees to drive seasonal, annual, and long-term business opportunities in accordance with Carhartt’s strategic objectives Facilitate the execution of new license agreements, renewals, and amendments; prepare financial scenarios/analysis as needed  Build the annual licensing budget in conjunction with the licensing Vice President and Finance team   Analyze licensees’ monthly financials, forecasting, and sales trends to provide an on-going analysis of the business; assess any royalty opportunity or risk versus budget in partnership with the finance Lead the coordination, organization and set up of Licensing promotional calendar and activities as needed.  Perform due diligence on new business opportunities and conduct market research Drive the preparation and execution of the annual licensing summit Visit local stores to see new product launches, corporate initiatives and to monitor product presentation to ensure brand alignment Build strong relationships with licensee leadership and cross-functional internal teams

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field; or equivalent years of related experience in lieu of degree.  

 

 

Required Skills & Experience

Minimum of 8 years experience in Licensing and/or Finance Experience with apparel brand licensing preferred  Minimum 3 years’ leadership experience with leading people, projects, and/or large-scale initiatives.   Strong proficiency of Microsoft Excel Possesses exceptional financial acumen; demonstrates strong analytical skills; able to translate data/research into key insights for licensing  Advanced knowledge and application of brand strategy and licensing processes Working knowledge of product merchandising preferred. Ability to handle many tasks at once in an organized manner.  Ability to handle confidential situations professionally.  Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with various levels of leadership. Strong communicator both verbally and written.  Project management skills preferred. 

 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Typical office environment; office setting. Extended periods of time sitting, standing, typing on a computer is required.   Willing to work some weekends if necessary.  Travel (up to 10%).   This position has a Remote location: Associate will have no regular requirement to be on-site. Travel on-site is limited to special events. Carhartt is a tobacco free workplace.
