Job SummaryProvides direction for and supervision of the planning and execution of the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of maintenance/technical training programs in accordance with prescribed departmental procedures, policies, and applicable regulations and requirements. Manage and direct the training staff and consultants in delivery of training programs. Develop and establish standards for conduct of maintenance/technical training and evaluate adherence to them in accordance with PSEG, regulatory, and INPO requirements.
Job Responsibilities Provides direction for and supervision of the planning and execution of the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of maintenance/technical training programs in accordance with prescribed departmental procedures, policies, and applicable regulations and requirements, such that all programs consistently sustain themselves in a state of readiness to maintain accredited status Hires, manages, and directs the training staff (first-line supervisor level MAST employees), consultants, and administrative associates, at a Superintendent level, such that all employees adhere to company procedures and policies, with a drive toward achieving PSEG Nuclear’s key long-term results Responds to the needs of line department heads, commensurate with Superintendent-level personnel, in an effort to ensure programmatic training is strategic, tactical, and responsive Develops and administers a zero-based budget coordinated with approved goals & objectives, consistently managing, yet minimizing, the need for outside services Provides management oversight in the field commensurate with Senior Leadership Team members and attends station leadership meetings (such as MAOM, MRC, MRMs, Shop-Steward Meetings, etc.) commensurate with Director-level personnel Supports nuclear outages in the un-compensated management rolls desired/required by line counterparts (OCC Managers, Task Managers, Field Observers, Issue Terminators, etc.) Participates in NRC, INPO, station, and industry audits/assessments, developing responses gaps such that programs maintain themselves on a continuous trend of improvement Job Specific Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a scientific/technical field and 5 years of industrial maintenance experience or in lieu of degree 8 years experience working in industrial maintenance environments. Minimum 4 years commercial nuclear power or industrial maintenance or plant environment experience 3 years of Supervisory and/or Training experience Must possess current theoretical & practical knowledge of BWR/PWR plant systems, operating characteristics, nuclear fuel handling, nuclear operations and emergency procedures.
