Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Manger Manufacturing Systems Engineer 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Advanced Manufacturing Technology organization. This leadership role is located in Palmdale, CA.

The Manager Manufacturing Systems Engineer 2 will have the responsibility of defining, developing, implementing, and transitioning new technology solutions to manufacturing to increase efficiency, reduce cost, and improve quality, which will include the following responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

Manufacturing concept and process solutions for production applications cover advanced technologies including but not limited to composites fabrication, assembly, automation, inspection, direct part manufacturing, LO technologies, as well as digital capabilities. This role extensive knowledge and execution of Contract Research & Development (CRAD) activities.Experience with Air Force & Navy Mentor Protégé Experience (MPP)This role requires working with Globa; Supply Chain and needs extensive Small Business Experience.The role requires incorporation of requirements into development plans and evaluation of performance of processes and tools to verify their efficiency. In addition, you will identify and initiate corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure R&D contractual obligations (technical, schedule, and cost) are met and product quality is maintained. In this role, you will provide guidance regarding design concepts, TRL/MRL maturity, and specification requirements to best utilize resources and manufacturing techniques, and ensure processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.This role involves interfacing with internal and external customers, program offices, engineering disciplines, and executive management. In addition, the role will require the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently in a dynamic/fast-paced work environment. Budgeting and Project Management skills will be utilized to properly scope and execute assigned work and manage project efforts.Conducting performance assessments, staffing, employee development, communication meetings, compensation adjustments, training & educational oversight/ approval and other routine personnel issuesAssessing, prioritizing and adjusting staffing to current and projected program needsFacilitating engineering support, review and approval of Bid & Proposal (B&P) requestsSupporting program gate reviews as the engineering review authority, and assist in resolution of program engineering challenges (technical, financial, and staffing)Coordinating across programs and functions for common efficiencies and operational gainsMaking decisions that impact the organization, operations, and servicesComprehending and analyzing complex problems and developing solutions

Basic Qualifications:

Must have a Bachelor's Degree (STEM) AND 8 years of related professional/military experience in aviation, systems engineering, aerospace or manufacturing/production OR a Master's Degree (STEM) AND 6 years of related professional/military experience in aviation, systems engineering, aerospace or manufacturing/production.Must have 2-3 years of prior management/leadership experience.Must have the ability to obtain Secret Clearance and special program access.Contract Research & Development ExperienceExperience working with Research & Advanced Design (R&AD) BU

Salary Range: $156,500.00 - $234,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
