Job Description: Manager, Market Planning - UbreakiFix

Job Summary: The candidate for this position will be self-motivated, detail oriented, well organized, think objectively, have a learning mindset, and be curious.  They will have analytical, financial, real estate, GIS, research, and problem-solving skills to excel in a fast paced, lean, results-oriented, and collaborative environment while interpreting meaningful themes from quantitative and qualitative data.

Contribute to the creation, development, and prioritization of the UbreakiFix (UBIF) long-range strategic growth plan and its tactical implementation for a range of projects focusing on the integration of initiatives at the market level; providing unbiased, analytical research and strategies to support the execution of Corporate and Franchise goals in markets and providing growth opportunities, strategic business development, and optimization.

Provide research, quantitative analysis, and directs unbiased research and strategies to determine growth potential for new and existing UBIF markets by means of market share penetration, competitive analysis and geographic and demographic analyses. May also support general occupancy and operational real estate analytics and reporting in Asurion’s Call Center business, turning data into stories and identifying information that can lead to actionable strategies.

Manage Geospatial Software in partnership with 3rd party to update footprint growth models, maintain area development agreements, store network, and target areas consistent with current business environment.

Research and develop strategic recommendations to create critical value to clients, markets, business units and the Company. Translates them into actionable tactics and objectives regarding necessary changes in the market OR regarding new data sources and methods to provide analysis to better serve the customers and to assess the competition. May provide insightful, measurable, and impactful scientific findings to support the overall Company goals. 

Apply analytical methods to quantify threats and to identify opportunities to increase market share and/or identify organic growth opportunities. Ensures the development OR ensures understanding and analysis of the spatial analysis factors resulting in better decision making. 

Collaborates and meets with other departments to deliver comprehensive and compelling recommendations for strategic initiatives with a positive impact on market penetration OR to create and prioritize geographic information and analysis needs.

Provides leadership and advice to client groups across the organization exhibiting subject matter expertise in areas including the knowledge and understanding of corporate goals, market issues and the impact on the UBIF store network.

Transfers knowledge across functional lines, promoting teamwork, and empowerment to achieve established objectives. May act as an agent of change to quickly and nimbly alter course of action to avoid failure to achieve anticipated results; ensure challenging goals are turned into action plans; manages competing priorities in a thoughtful and well-organized manner. 

Develops specific objectives and/or processes focused on innovation. May develop scorecard and scoring in areas including initiatives executed, communication, action planning, research and data completed; develops objective metrics, encourages personal accountability, and effective communications.

We’d love to hear from people with:

Basic Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s Degree and at least 3-5 years of external experience in market research, market planning, GIS, spatial technologies, data sets or spatial systems development with a national retailer/consultant OR at least 3 years of experience internally at Asurion/UBIF in market research, data sets or spatial systems development. 

Advanced level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using AVERAGE function, merging and centering cells, printing centered page and creating a pivot table). 

Advanced level skill in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: changing picture styles, customizing animation and/or setting automatic slide timings). 

Advanced level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: adding developer tab, creating a macro, formatting table style, inserting comments and/or creating a mail merge). 

Experience using business analytical skills including facilitating requirements sessions and documenting activity workflows and business requirements. 

Experience using analytical systems (for example: PowerBI, ESRI, Alteryx, Tableau) and methodology of research data, systems and techniques.

At least 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.

2 years of experience using demographic data in retail market setting, site analysis and market research.

At least 2 years of indirect leadership and/or cross-functional team leadership experience. 

Previous real estate experience preferred.

Willing to travel up to 20% of the time for business purposes.
