Manager Medical Staff Office | Medical Staff Department | Day
Overview Full Time Position Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm The purpose of the Manager Medical Staff Office is to manage the medical staff administration function and department staff. Develop improvements and enhancements to database systems and processes and manage projects to implementation. Management of hospital and delegated credentialing auditing process. Supervise the medical staff administration tasks through designated functions including projects and completion of credentialing files. Responsible for meeting management, staff education and training. Areas of expertise include up-to-date knowledge of and compliance with credentialing and managed care requirement standards, initiatives and proposals. Qualifications Required Education: Bachelor's Degree. Specific course work: Seven (7) + years of relevant experience and NAMSS Certifications (CPCS or CPMSM) may be accepted in lieu of a degree. Preferred Education: Bachelor's in Health Care Administration, Business Administration or other related field Required Licensure/Certification: Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) OR Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) by the National Association of Medical Staff Services within two years of date of hire or transfer into position. Required Experience: 3-5 years of Medical staff services/credentialing, healthcare, human resources in a healthcare environment or related field Preferred Experience: Experience with hospital quality process improvement. Supervision: Supervisory Responsibility: Yes Number of employees supervised: 6 Necessary Skills: 1. Demonstrated use and knowledge of complex database applications. 2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 3. Ability to work with people across many different departments in the organization, as well as internal teams. 4. Ability to work with people of varying levels of skill sets and to utilize those skill sets. 5. Ability to interact appropriately with front-line employees, managers, directors and executives. 6. Ability to be an effective trainer. 7. Must have knowledge (or ability to comprehend) accreditation standards
