Manager Mission Integration Spiritual Care
Overview

St. Lukes Health–The Vintage Hospital provides high-quality compassionate care for residents of the Willowbrook Champions and Tomball areas of Northwest Houston. With the resources of the St. Luke’s Health system we are able to deliver the most advanced care available to our Northwest Houston community. The Vintage Hospital offers the latest in diagnostic and surgical expertise including heart care women’s health and orthopedics.


Responsibilities

Connects staff to our heritage and legacy, reframing today’s experience in light of the Gospel message of Jesus Christ’s healing ministry, and by facilitating theological reflection in uncertain times. Weave fresh insights with
implications for strategic development, to help facilitate organizational effectiveness in mission. Supports and provides on‐going formation for continued development of mission integration in the workplace. Expected to do daily patient rounding, work with interdisciplinary rounds, do spiritual assessments and chart their activities. They are familiar with the Ethical and Religious Directives for St. Luke's Facilities. They Assist in building community through affirming others’ contributions, celebrating gifts, milestones and accomplishments in an effort to network relationships that heal.


ESSENTIAL KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assess mission and spiritual care staffing based on the needs of the hospital employees and patients by working with hospital administration and leaders.
2. Promote development and awareness of mission and spiritual support to increase patient satisfaction and coordinate trainings for other departments for spiritual issues in healthcare.
3. Responsible for Strategic Planning for the Spiritual Care department within assigned hospital and greater community.
4. Ability to lead change management in a collaborative manner.
5. Ability to staff, develop and coach team.
6.Responsible for being a good steward in all aspects of the business.
7.Promote and interpret the Mission and Values and Ensures their application to policies.
8.Provide ethical guidance in a collaborative team with the Mission and Spiritual Care Leaders Create a ministry culture which encourages pride and ownership in the Mission: help give meaning and purpose to our work.
9.Committed to the ongoing formation ministry of others.
10. Responsibility of creating appropriate, effective ritual experiences as needed.
11. Responsibility for assessing, sharing and providing spiritual care to patients, families, caregivers and staff.


Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

Master’s Degree or equivalent experience is required.Minimum of two (2) years of experience with a Master’s Degree OR eight (8) years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree is required.Two (2) units of Clinical Pastoral Education.Two (2) years experience in health care setting.HIGHLY Preferred:  Board Certified with accredited chaplaincy group such as: APC, NACC or NAJC

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training:

Working knowledge of Ethical Religious Directives, traditional and ethical traditions of the Catholic Church.
