The Manager, Nursing Budget & Operations is accountable to the Site Controller and the Chief Nursing Officer for the overall development and monitoring of the Department of Patient Care FTEs and budget. Responsibilities include supervising the financial activities of the Department of Patient Care in relation to people, budget, policies, and procedures. Supports the workforce planning for the Department of Patient Care. Serves as a liaison for the Department of Patient Care to the Department of Finance and Human Resources.
Responsibilities Prepares and works on the nursing annual budget. Manages the nursing budget and an FTE count of 2650+. Participates in the budget planning process and determines appropriate allocation of funds/ personnel and benchmarking care delivery processes i.e: nursing care hours skill mix and ratios for the Department of Patient Care. Develops and analyzes monthly dashboards , variance reports for expenses, vacancies, turnover rate, sick calls, per diem and overtime. Meets with nursing directors and nurse managers to review the monthly Responsibility Summaries to develop and monitor corrective action plans. Identifies and implements control procedures to eliminate discrepancies/ errors with payroll functions and PeopleSoft and/or other systems to ensure accuracy and reliability of the payroll for the Department of Patient Care. Chairs and/or participates at meeting committees, councils, task force for the purpose of accomplishing the departmental and organizational goals/objectives Other duties as assigned. Adheres to the standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies. QualificationsEducation, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Finance. Experience in managing Nursing Budgets. Experience in healthcare or corporate sectors. Excellent and interpersonal skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office and Google Suite platforms.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
Master's degree in Business Administration. Proficiency in PeopleSoft or SmartSquare.
