Job Description

Position Summary

The Manager of Acquisitions, Transactions will play a pivotal role in managing the Transactions department's acquisition and transaction process. This includes overseeing all aspects of acquisitions, capital investments, and partner relationships. The Manager will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including Portfolio, Investment, and Asset Management teams, to ensure seamless execution and alignment with organizational goals.

Essential Job Functions

Job Function #1: Transaction Management & Due Diligence:

• Collaborate closely with the Asset, Portfolio, and Investment teams to analyze key findings and provide actionable recommendations that influence return and financial performance. Ensure accountability for inputs and assumptions throughout the underwriting and transaction process.

• Oversee and verify the accuracy of due diligence materials, identifying any potential issues that could impact the transaction's return or financial performance, ensuring thorough risk assessment.

• Manage key deadlines for tasks and activities related to transactions. Proactively identify and resolve issues that may impede the closing process, ensuring timely and successful deal execution.

• Assist cross-functional teams in identifying and mitigating pre- and post-acquisition challenges, while managing expectations around closing timelines, progress, deliverables, and deadlines. (60%)

Job Function #2: Strategic Planning & Execution:

• Partner with FP&A, Portfolio, and Asset Management teams to manage the acquisition process, providing insights, recommendations, and presentations to key stakeholders and decision-makers, helping to guide strategic decisions.

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of each deal's structure, business plan, fund-level objectives, and key performance risks, ensuring informed decision-making and strategic alignment.

• Define post-acquisition actions required to implement the business plan’s strategy, align with fund-level objectives, create operational budgets, and transition assets onto Brookfield Properties Multifamily's platform. (30%)

Job Function #3: Other Duties 

• Other special projects as needed, providing support to ensure smooth execution and alignment with organizational objectives. (10%)

Education

This position requires a(n) Undergraduate (Bachelor) Degree in Real Estate, Finance, Accounting

Advanced (Master) Degree in Real Estate, Finance, Accounting preferred

 

Work Experience

5-7 Years of Required Experience: Multifamily portfolio management, Asset Management and Analysis; Project management and transaction experience with Multifamily Assets

5-7 Years of Preferred Experience: Multifamily Operations Experience
