Job Summary
The Manager of Business Development will manage a team of Senior Sales Executives. Assisting the team with designing our growth plan within our existing client base and new business. Working close with the Leadership team at Pierce Group Benefits. The Manager of Business Development also solicits and sells insurance products and services to existing and new business; maintains an existing book of business; expands book of business; enhances the public image of the Agency by proactively performing the following duties.

What You'll Do Hire, train and develop a sales team.Motivate your team.Monitor & measure team results by meeting with each member at least bi-weekly. Review their calendar, help score client & prospect meetings, and measure pipeline movement.Maintain effective communication with team members by meeting regularly 1 on 1 to hold them accountable for results.Provide continuous, constructive feedback to sales team to ensure their success.Be able to communicate difficult and sensitive information tactfully.Manage conference attendance for department personnelAssign team personnel’s book of business and adjust as necessaryTrain staff on bid management, crafting bid responses, and delivery of finalist presentationsTravel with department personnel to client and prospect visits, conferences, benefit fairs, and other client facing meetingsRide with and train new sales representatives in the market to effectively observe their true results.Help the company grow by identifying new business opportunities, generate leads and build relationships with clients and key partners, including COIs.Work with your team to create new sales opportunities by strategizing on conferences and cold calling.Prospect: work with existing PGB teams & existing clients to identify cross selling opportunitiesSolicit and sell insurance products and services to existing and prospective clientsParticipate in activities that maintain and expand current book of business (i.e., conferences).Provide service to existing client base throughout North Carolina, Virginia, and South CarolinaMonitor and measure pipeline movement and report to Leadership teamAnalyze and organize departmental operations, procedures, and structureSuggest and implement process and procedural improvements as needed to drive departmental efficienciesDemonstrate familiarity with insurance products and terminology regarding employee benefits and train department personnelParticipate in new product development committeeDocument processes for the various levels in the department in a centralized locationCollaborate with other company managers to implement and assess procedures, evaluate efficiencies, and propose new initiativesDeliver informative, well organized, accurate presentations.Maintain a valid insurance and stay current on educationFollow company procedures concerning all essential duties and responsibilitiesOther duties as assignedTravel is expected to be 50% in this roleSupervisory Responsibilities
