Manager of Business Intelligence - Pharmacy Services

Primary Function/General Purpose of Position

The Manager of Business Operations – Pharmacy will promote and manage Advantus pharmacy business services to external members along with efforts to provide strategical business direction and oversight across the internal Advantus pharmacy services team.  More precisely, the director will drive efforts in developing, marketing, and managing pharmacy supply chain business solutions including GPO offerings, pharmacy consultant services, and operational supply chain capabilities to potential members. The position will be integral in gleaning drug and pharmacy intelligence from a multitude of sources to compile, craft, and communicate  relevant and needed pharmaceutical information and business objectives to both the broader Advantus team and members.  The position requires significant teamwork and collaboration across all aspects of the Advantus team creating optimal business solutions aimed towards achieving cost leadership, consolidated logistics,  and operational efficiencies.

Essential Job Functions

An expert in the field of supply chain pharmacy, capable of providing insight and intelligence towards current business trends and practices with drug manufacturers, drug wholesalers, and pharmacy services firms

Assist in marketing and managing  customer relationship and needs towards Advantus pharmacy business services

Provide business analytics, detailed reports, and decision support pertaining to potential future members and clients related to GPO portfolio integration, reimbursement analysis, pharmacy consultant services, and/or supply chain pharmacy operational capabilities.

Will compile relevant information from expanded team in developing strategy to mitigate and/or overcome drug shortages with core vendors including manufacturers, wholesalers, and 503B related firms to create a resilient supply chain for Advantus HP.

Lead GPO integration efforts across the broader Advantus pharmacy services team for future members

The manager will be responsible for leading pharmacy supply chain consultant services to external clients through a multi-faceted approach including contract optimization, purchasing compliance, inventory enhancements, and product standardization.

In collaboration with the pharmacy services team will develop and implement unique and new-to-market GPO business practices and services for associated clients and members

Licensing/Certification

Maintains current license for pharmacist in the state(s) where practicing (required)

Education

Graduate of an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS or PharmD (required) 

Advanced pharmacy degree – Doctor of Pharmacy, Masters, Residency (preferred)

Work Experience

Minimum 2 years' leadership experience,

5 years’ experience in industry roles with a complex pharmacy supply chain, pharmaceutical manufacturer, drug wholesaler, or GPO
