Day in the Life of a Manager of Clinical Applications
Support the Director with the implementation, maintenance, and support of clinical software applications, including Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems that include Carelogic by Qualifacts, healthcare clearinghouses that include Waystar, and other related technologies. Lead, mentor, and manage a team of clinical application specialists, providing guidance and support for their professional growth. Collaborate with clinical end-users to understand their needs, workflows, and challenges, and translate these into actionable solutions that enhance patient care and operational efficiency. Partner with the Security Department to ensure the security and compliance of clinical applications, including HIPAA and other regulatory requirements. Develop and implement training programs in conjunction with the training team to educate clinical staff on the effective use of clinical applications. Partner with IT and clinical departments to coordinate upgrades, enhancements, and integration of clinical applications. Partner with the IT/Systems Operations to ensure the smooth onboarding and offboarding of employees. Oversee system testing, data migration, and end-user acceptance testing for application updates. Partner with the Data Analytics Department to assist with the management of all data created within the various information systems at the company. Partner with the Revenue Cycle Management Department to manage issues, coordinate changes, and plan a roadmap for EMR, clearing house and related systems that support billing and collections. Partner with the Payer Contracting Department and Medical Coding Department with designing and implementing updates within EMR systems to reflect new billing and coding models. Partner with the Medical Operations Department to ensure that the EMR systems meet the needs of the company’s clinical care model and implement changes as needed to capture clinical care model and operational/workflow changes.Schedule & Locations
This position will be a remote role and requires regular travel to our headquarters in Greenville, SC.Education and Licensure Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare informatics, Health Information Management, Information Technology, or a related field. Experience in healthcare technologies as it relates to EMR, managed care and revenue and billing systems preferred. Vendor management experience Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare IT with a focus on clinical applications. Strong leadership and management skills, including experience in supervising a team. In-depth knowledge of clinical software applications, EMR systems, and healthcare technology. Familiarity with healthcare compliance and security regulations. Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with various stakeholders. Proven project management skills with the ability to oversee complex healthcare IT projects.Position Benefits
