Manager of Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI)
Departmental Overview Compensation / Benefits $39.62-64.71/hr. based on previous work experience. Our focus is to optimize and validate the clinical documentation within the health system to allow for the most accurate, complete and compliant coding possible. Job Summary Responsible for strategic development, coordination and implementation of initiatives related to Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI). Coordinates with other departments within the health system to ensure effectiveness of initiatives are obtained. Responsible for monitoring the effective use of data, understanding outcomes and monitoring performance metrics related to various documentation improvement opportunities. Develops/maintains expertise in all pertinent facets of CDI with the goal of optimizing outcomes, achieving health-system goals and serving as an organization-wide resource. Responsible for managing the overall functions of the CDI team(s). Qualifications Education Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN), Preferred Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) or bachelor's degree in related field. Master's degree preferred. Experience Prefer three years of progressive management experience. Three years of experience in clinical documentation improvement. Knowledge of coding guidelines for ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT, compliance for inpatient and outpatient documentation, medical necessity and charge master functions viewed favorably. (Above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of education and experience). Licensure / Certification If candidate is an RN, must have a valid current RN license in the State of Oklahoma. Clinical Documentation or Coding certification viewed favorably.
