Manager of Community Engagement

As our energy landscape evolves, we must work together to ensure everyone in Oregon can benefit from the transition to a clean and equitable energy future. The Manager of Community Engagement, a new position within PGE’s Community Engagement team, will lead a team dedicated to engaging with communities across PGE’s service territory and throughout the state. We are looking for someone who is passionate about building and maintaining relationships, developing solutions to complex problems, and committed to creating meaningful opportunities for engagement on PGE projects and programs. The ideal candidate has extensive experience designing and implementing engagement programs within complex regulatory and/or permitting environments, working in cross functional teams, and adapting engagement strategies to meet the needs of the community and organization. As the Manager of Community Engagement, you will work closely with the Manager of Equitable Engagement and the Senior Manager of Labor, Workforce, and Community Engagement to develop a roadmap across a variety of areas including wildfire, federal grants, and major projects. Through formal community outreach and engagement processes as well as engagement directly within communities, your team will work collaboratively with internal and external partners to create opportunities for two-way conversations within the communities we serve. **Key Responsibilities** **Team Management** Manages externally facing team responsible for community engagement programs that support major company programs, projects, and initiatives; provides technical management for the team, ensuring that objectives are met and all relevant standards/procedures are followed; ensures that operational problems are identified and resolved; ensures that operational procedures and working practices are identified and resolved; and appropriate for the organization. **Community Outreach** Actively leads outreach efforts to build awareness and trust within service territory communities and throughout the state; manages team involved in key stakeholder outreach for customers and is responsible the development, program planning and implementation of programs specific to community outreach; Works with customers and other key stakeholders, including community based organizations and nonprofit organizations to help inform company programs and projects. **External Relations** Builds relationships with communities throughout PGE’s service territory and throughout Oregon to support engagement on PGE projects, programs, and initiatives. **Collaboration** Partners with lines of business (Resource Planning, Operations, Government Affairs, Rates & Regulatory, Transmission and Distribution Planning, Communications) and works across the organization to embed community engagement best practices; understands emerging priorities and provides project management and guidance to drive success of community engagement in partnership with appropriate business and functional team members. While we anticipate the selected candidate for this position will fall towards the middle or entry point of the compensation range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.
