**Mercyone** is seeking a dedicated and experienced Trauma Program Manager to oversee the management, budgeting, and supervision of the Emergency Room and its staff. This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of optimal trauma care across the healthcare continuum, working collaboratively with the Emergency Room Medical Director. The Trauma Program Manager is responsible for coordinating patient care activities, maintaining high standards of service, and ensuring the department’s smooth operation 24/7.

**Key Responsibilities:**
+ **Departmental Leadership:** Collaborate with the Vice President of Patient Services and ED Medical Director to set goals, design, implement, and monitor the delivery of emergency and trauma care.
+ **Personnel Management:** Recruit, train, schedule, and manage performance for emergency and trauma services staff. Ensure effective, cost-efficient operation of the team.
+ **Clinical Oversight:** Act as a role model in clinical judgment, delivering direct and indirect care to trauma patients. Serve as a consultant for nurses and pre-hospital providers.
+ **Collaboration:** Work with healthcare teams to ensure efficient, high-quality care for injured patients across the continuum.
+ **Trauma Services Supervision:** Provide overall direction and support for trauma services staff, including performance evaluations and daily activity management.
+ **Trauma Program Development:** Assist in formulating and revising trauma service goals, policies, and practice guidelines through the Trauma Committee. Coordinate Trauma Center verification process.
+ **Budgeting and Financial Management:** Assist in the development and monitoring of the budget for Emergency/Trauma Services.
+ **Quality and Performance Management:** Lead efforts to develop and implement quality management plans. Ensure achievement of established quality goals for trauma care.
+ **Education and Outreach:** Coordinate educational activities for trauma care professionals and community outreach initiatives. Support professional development through educational programs and community prevention efforts.
+ **Liaison Responsibilities:** Act as a key liaison with local and state agencies, physicians, staff, and other healthcare professionals involved in trauma care.
+ **Team Collaboration:** Foster teamwork and interpersonal relationships with hospital staff, providers, and external partners.
+ **Patient Care Excellence:** Work with leadership to enhance the quality, safety, and overall patient experience.

+ **Additional Responsibilities:** Take on other duties as assigned to support the department’s objectives.
**Qualifications:**
**Education:**
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or related field required.
+ Master’s Degree preferred.
+ 3+ years of leadership experience in emergency or critical care, or equivalent, is required.
**Licenses/Certifications:**
+ Current Iowa Registered Nurse license.
+ BLS (Basic Life Support).
+ ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support).
+ TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course).
+ Mandatory Reporter certification.
**Experience:**
+ At least 3 years of experience in Emergency or Critical Care or a related field is required.
+ Knowledge of trauma care systems and clinical judgment is essential.
**Skills & Abilities:**
+ Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
+ Ability to manage personnel effectively and ensure high-quality care delivery.
+ Strong analytical skills with experience in budgeting and performance evaluation.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Previous experience in trauma care program management.
+ Advanced leadership certifications or training.
