Job Description

The Manager of Endpoint and Client Services in the Office of Innovative Technology Solutions (ITS) is responsible for leadership and direction for IT customer service and endpoint asset management for the campus. The incumbent will lead a team of growing professionals that support the technology customer experience throughout campus. This individual will operationalize quality, efficiency, and a high level of customer service with all interactions. This individual is a self-motivated team player who effectively works with technical and non-technical customers, team members and outside individuals to achieve the goals of the unit. This position reports to the Deputy CIO.

In-office position in Stephenville, Texas with work hours of Mon-Fri; 8 AM-5 PM or as work requirements indicate which may include afterhours/late hours as needed.

Must be able to work remotely at the request of the University.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Manages the alignment of resources and staffing for the successful operation of the unit and achievement of Division and University mission.

Leads a support team that provides executive consultation to the President’s Office and associated Cabinet Offices.

Manages centralized and embedded technical support staff in establishing relationships with the customer base to prioritize needs and identify solutions. May manage relevant IT projects to support the University and strategic plan. Engages with customers, other University offices, and vendors.

Operationalizes the expansion of education, training, and professional development offerings related to office computing tools to grow customer technical skills and knowledge. Effectively communicates IT services and initiatives to the campus community.

Oversees staff in leading the life cycle process of University-owned computer equipment, including procurement process for technology needs, new technology evaluation, recommendation, deployment, data backup, access to applications, support, and removal of technology from service.

May engage with negotiations with software and hardware vendors to best meet the needs of the University, continually seeking opportunities for overall cost savings, and implements efficient processes.

Leads staff toward the successful completion of department goals and initiatives. Challenges staff toward progression in their professional development goals, while providing opportunities for staff growth based on their strengths.

Strategically and responsibly manages resources. Recommends and presents staffing and budgeting matters effectively with the Deputy CIO.

Coordinates policies and procedures with other IT units to ensure responsiveness, quality of service, and cost-efficiency.

Responsible for compliance with all university, System, and state policy, security, and applicable TAC's and laws related to the management of endpoint systems.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience

5 years of related experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.

Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to ensure understanding.

Preferred Qualifications

Excellent written and communication skills and a thorough understanding of the computer field, the university environment, and the range of customers of IT.

Excellent organizational, project management, interpersonal communication, and leadership skills.

Holds general knowledge of information technology trends and practices and endpoint management.

Salary: 

Commensurate with experience  

 

Salary is commensurate with experience and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
