**Job Summary and Qualifications**
+ The Manager of Facilities Management is responsible for the management and coordination of Medical City Ft Worth construction projects as well as other facility related projects as assigned by Director to meet departmental goals.
+ The position establishes effective working relationships with hospital staff, contractors, design consultants and authorities having jurisdiction such as city building officials, TDH, JCHO, CMS, etc.
+ Ensures patient/personal safety by maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment and adhering to Safety Program and Infection Control Programs.
+ Supports hospital and departmental Performance Improvement Goals.
+ Manages projects from conception through completion including but not limited to construction project coordination, owner/architect/contractor meetings, contract documents, bidding, budgets, scheduling, and space management.
+ Also performs special projects in support of the hospital mission and values and facility goals including: Power Point presentations, usage analysis, interfaces with staff, physicians, vendors, contractors, authorities having jurisdiction, Plant Operations department, key user groups, patients and executive management. Identifies opportunities and remedies through continuous peer satisfaction and employee involvement.
+ Plans and coordinate utility shutdowns.
+ Assists Director in maintenance of capital and operating budgets.
+ Participates periodically in strategic committees including construction committee, equipment committee, process improvement teams and EOC committees.
+ Responds promptly to all emergencies and/or disasters. Understands and/or performs required protocol, procedures, and related tasks as outlined and described in the hospital disaster policy.
+ Maintains and updates Facilities Project List and review with Director on a weekly basis.
+ Utilizes Plant Operations staff in order to control cost on projects without adverse effect on plant operations man-hours budget.
+ Communicates the expected level of performance to staff. Maintains communications with directors, managers, and supervisors in order to elevate the level of customer satisfaction.
+ Actively participates during internal and external inspections by regulatory agencies. Maintains necessary records and documentation.
+ Responsible for providing a safe, clean and attractive facility environment.
+ Reviews records, reports, logs, and files as required.
+ Maintains key control system for facility. Keeps key list current. Assists directors/managers with access control as required. Maintains an inventory of spare keys and blanks.
+ Controls parts inventory and supply orders. Orders materials and parts based on hospital mission and priorities.
+ Maintains an inventory of high use, high priority parts and supplies. Utilizes distributors to maintain inventory of low priority, low use parts and supplies. Communicates when parts orders are delayed to mechanics and directors/managers.
**What qualifications you will need:**
+ Education and Training Experience Required
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Construction or Engineering related field required.
+ Must have at least three (3) years’ experience in project or construction management and/or worked in an acute care hospital with experience of hospital regulatory compliance.
+ The ability to read blue prints using diagrams and schematics on electrical and mechanical equipment.
+ Must be familiar with building maintenance and construction techniques, equipment and operation of various systems including plumbing, HVAC, electrical and structural and applicable hospital equipment (i.e.: chillers, boilers etc.). Must be familiar with applicable codes: federal, state, city, NFPA and JCAHO regulations relating to healthcare facilities.
Medical City Fort Worth is a 350+ bed full-service Magnet Designated hospital. It is located in the heart of the medical district. Medical City Fort Worth serves as a tertiary referral center for Tarrant County and many counties within a 90 mile radius. We offer comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services.
