Position Overview

Shaw Industries is hiring a Senior Engineering Manager for our corporate location in Dalton, GA. Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, the Manager of Global Facilities manages (6) salaried reports including project managers, facility managers and a CAD designer.  This position will be responsible for ensuring the effective operation and maintenance of all aspects of our facilities. The position leads the team in providing facility management support for (22) corporate admin facilities including offices, company store, onboarding center, café 72 and health center at locations in Dalton, Ringgold and Calhoun.  The position is responsible for developing and managing the CEFM capital budget as well as operating budgets for approximately (28) cost centers including building, occupancy, corporate security, corporate housing and café accounts.  Responsibilities also include project management support for the (22) corporate admin locations ranging from small-scale upgrades to complex, multi-million-dollar renovation projects.  Additional responsibility includes frequent collaboration with our Shaw Contract and Patcraft leadership teams and providing project management support to plants CX and 94 in addition to (16) domestic and (15) international commercial sales showrooms and offices.  The position also partners with our Corporate Communications, Branding and Marketing teams to improve branding consistency across the organization and to develop and carry out the longer-term master plan for the corporate campus. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

Space Planning and Management: Exhibit sound business acumen to develop and implement a 5-year strategy to manage annual operating budgets for the corporate facilities portfolio.  Continuously seek opportunities for improving cost and space utilization within corporate facilities. Collaborate with department heads to assess space requirements and develop efficient space utilization plans. Oversee office relocations, renovations, and expansion projects, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.    Team Leadership: Manage the facilities team and provide direction in developing project concepts, feasibility studies, budget estimates and project execution. Recruit, train, and supervise staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and productivity. Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the organization. Utilize sound performance management techniques, establish goals and challenge direct reports to be as efficient and effective as possible. Serve on cross functional committees such as kaizens, policy boards, CE tiger team etc. Fully utilize PX to set and measure goals for individuals, aligning with company objectives, and coach to promote further growth and development of the facilities team.   

Budget Management: Ensures the team solicits and documents plant/customer requirements and input.  Provide planning and budget support for the Commercial business. Develop and manage the facilities budget, including forecasting expenses, monitoring costs, and identifying cost-savings opportunities.  Obtain competitive bids for services and supplies, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships to optimize spending. Work with Global Sourcing to negotiate, set expectations, and assemble specifications for furniture purchases, janitorial services, and outside service contracts. 

Safety and Compliance: Ensure with all relevant health and safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standards. Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Coordinate with regulatory agencies and conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance. Assure team compliance with all CE project administration guidelines and procedures. 

Asset Mangement: Maintain accurate records of facilities assets, including equipment, furniture, and fixtures.  Develop and implement strategies for asset management, including lifecycle planning and replacement schedules. 

  

​Position Requirements: 

Minimum of 5 years facilities management and 5 years project management experience 

Four-year degree in related field is preferred 

Previous experience leading a salaried team in a corporate environment 

Knowledge of architecture, construction, fire protection, HVAC and electrical systems 

Familiarity with building, Life Safety, ADA, and NFPA codes  

Familiarity with WELL Equity and LEED building standards 

Experience in space planning, interior design and class “A” office fit-out 

Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving and leadership skills 

Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

Domestic and international travel will be required at times 

Full-time, in office work schedule is expected
