The Manager of Hawaiian Culture & Community Relations will be the Ambassador for the hotel in all Hawaiian Culture elements. This person must be knowledgeable in Hawaiian culture; certification as an instructor in a Hawaiian program related to hospitality and tourism preferred. This highly visible person will engage in all Hawaiian aspects for our hotel and our community, including conducting sense-of-place planning; providing cultural training programs for employees; providing Hawaiian storytelling and cultural activities on property; supporting Hawaiian artists and activities for guests and employees; working with the public relations teamand media; and, assisting with sales and operational departments with all cultural aspects. This role will be highly visible throughout the resort and will be expected to attend various staff meetings and trainings, standup and pre-shift meetings, as well as marketing and client meetings. The role will develop an on-site culture center that welcomes guests and colleagues, conduct training and collaborate with all departments of the hotel, and work in tandem with the Hotel’s cultural partners to curate various guest experiences and activities. This person will bring warmth and Aloha and model our Hyatt values both within the community and throughout the resort. The Manager of Hawaiian Culture and Community Relations will analyze guest and colleague feedback through data analytics to improve the offerings and trainings for guests and colleagues alike. This position is based within the hotel. Some travel to off-site events, both on Oahu and within the state of Hawaii, may be required. The Manager of Hawaiian Culture and Community Relations will report to the Director of Human Resources and the General Manager. The salary range for this position is $80,900 - $100,000. This is the pay range for this position that Hyatt Regency Waikiki reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, such as experience and education.
