The Manager of Heme Malignancy and Leukemia Outpatient will provide direction and offer recommendations with the development, implementation, quality assurance, and improvement activities of the malignant hematology and leukemia service line within the hematopoietic cellular therapy program (HCT) and clinical research.  Collaborates with community oncologists, hospitals, PCPs, and facility wide multidisciplinary teams including HCT inpatient/outpatient stem cell transplant, clinic, pharmacy, nursing, physician specialty groups, lab, radiology services, finance, scheduling, case management, social work, data management, and quality to ensure seamless patient care across all areas. Provides visionary leadership to maximize the effectiveness and financial performance of service delivery systems and to ensure excellent patient outcomes.

The successful candidate:

Provide direction and offer recommendations for the development, implementation, quality assurance, and improvement activities of the malignant hematology and leukemia service line within the hematopoietic cellular therapy (HCT) program and clinical research.

Collaborate with community oncologists, hospitals, PCPs, and multidisciplinary teams, including HCT inpatient/outpatient stem cell transplant, clinic, pharmacy, nursing, physician specialty groups, lab, radiology services, finance, scheduling, case management, social work, data management, and quality, to ensure seamless patient care.

Provide visionary leadership to maximize the effectiveness and financial performance of service delivery systems and ensure excellent patient outcomes.

Determine the strategic direction of the heme malignancy/leukemia service and post allogeneic stem cell transplant clinic, establishing priorities in alignment with executive and physician leadership goals.

Develop, implement, operate, and enhance the leukemia, heme malignancy, CAR-T, and post allogeneic stem cell transplant clinics.

Support performance improvement initiatives for the program and monitor their effectiveness.

Develop, evaluate, and implement policies, procedures, and services to ensure quality patient care in a complex, acuity adaptable environment consistent with regulatory and accreditation requirements and operational needs.

Develop and manage a patient data tracking system for clinical, scientific, and financial use, including tracking and evaluating data such as patient referrals, transfers, transition to transplant, length of stay, readmissions, clinical research, and chromosomal mutations.

Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to facilitate various treatment modalities and continued care for patients diagnosed with hematologic malignancies across the stem cell transplant and leukemia service continuum.

Provide direction through the patient care journey from initial diagnosis, treatment, recovery, maintenance, and clinical assessment of care needs.

Work closely with the inpatient manager of stem cell transplant and heme malignancy to ensure seamless delivery of patient care.

Provide oversight in the coordination of care between inpatient, ambulatory care, outpatient clinic, and community physician offices across the continuum of care, including prevention, diagnosis, survivorship, palliative care, and end-of-life.

Collaborate with departments across the organization that intersect with and support the successful implementation of strategic business plans for these services.

Manage the operational delivery of excellent patient care in alignment with registration, scheduling, finance, physicians, nursing, informatics, radiology, and lab.

Determine workload priorities through planning, coordination, managing personnel, and providers to meet administrative and operational requirements.

Supervise individual team members (direct reports) and provide ongoing, midyear, and end-of-year review feedback for performance improvement, development, and growth.

Develop a coaching and mentoring relationship to ensure staff competency and compliance with licensures and certifications.

Provide clinical direction, education, and mentorship to staff caring for patients with hematological disorders.

Ensure the development and delivery of ongoing education to stem cell transplant and heme malignancy teams and supporting ancillary service personnel, including standards of care, program initiatives, latest research studies, and other topics to promote best practices.

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

Minimum of 3 years of related experience required; 5 years of related experience preferred

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required; Master’s degree preferred

Georgia Registered Nurse License required

Preferred certifications include OCN; BMTCN
