Job Summary: We are seeking to hire a Manager of HIV Prevention and Outreach Services at BHCHP that will be responsible for the functioning of the HIV Prevention and Screening program at the various sites of Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program and partner organizations. As the manager, you will work closely with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health HIV/AIDS Bureau. You are responsible for the development and maintenance of collaborative relationships with shelters and agencies where BHCHP offers testing, counseling, overdose education and naloxone distribution (OEND) services. You will hire, onboard, and manage all Prevention Team staff, as well as provide ongoing training and support required for HIV team staff conducting street outreach. You will arrange HIV/hepatitis/STI counseling and testing schedules at various outreach sites and be responsible for all reporting to funding organizations. You will engage in quality improvement activities and ongoing evaluation of the program to assure the highest quality of performance and patient care. You may also provide HIV prevention and screening and OEND services as needed. Hours: Monday- Friday 8:30am-5:00pm Responsibilities: + Hires HIV/hepatitis/STI counselor/testers and PrEP Navigators with assistance from HIV Team Director and HR. + Oversees staff onboarding, provides direct staff supervision and development, and performance management for the HIV Prevention Team. + Develops and delivers training and staff support and resources relevant to street-based outreach and engagement with populations at high risk for HIV (including facilitation of weekly outreach safety meetings and staff drop-in groups). + Fosters relationships with peer programs to create opportunities for cross-training, case-conferencing, additional support. + Develops and implements systems to address staff wellbeing, professional development, and retention. + Serves as training resource for all Red Team Outreach Staff. + Serves as a point person for coordinating HIV team outreach activities and communicating with other BHCHP outreach teams. + Oversees the collection of Prevention and Screening (P&S) data, patient records, and the submission of program reports and documentation as required. + Ensures that the protocols for the delivery of P&S services comply with MDPH contractual requirements and CDC procedures and guidelines. + Provides liaison activities, quality assurance and utilization activities at all sites where counseling and testing activities are provided. + Ensures contract and regulatory compliance, including reporting requirements. + Works with HIV Team Director to manage DPH Prevention and Screening Grant, including managing budget, assists with budget amendments, prepares grant reports. + Ensures services are provided in a clean, safe environment and in compliance with established policies and procedures. + Works with shelters and other agencies to schedule times for HIV counseling/testing to be performed. + Makes sure HIV prevention and screening schedules are covered by staff. + Ensures that staff is up to date in training around HIV/hepatitis/STI’s, prevention and counseling and testing, harm reduction and OEND services. + Orders all supplies including testing materials, controls, bar codes. + Participates as requested in HIV Team meetings. + Promotes collaboration with shelters and treatment programs where BHCHP provides prevention services. + Maintains competency in phlebotomy and provides phlebotomy training to HIV Team staff as needed. + Maintains counseling skills and expertise in HIV/hepatitis/STI’s by attending educational sessions provided by BHCHP and its partner organization. Attends training sessions as needed. + Participates in quality improvement activities of HIV Program. Develops quality indicators to assess program performance. + Participates in BHCHP committees as requested by supervisor. + Performs other programmatic duties as requested by supervisor.   Qualifications: + 4 years post high school education or equivalent experience. + Effective interpersonal skills to interact with clients in sensitive and knowledgeable manner when educating regarding HIV/hepatitis/STI risks or when giving results. + Experience in working with HIV clients preferred. + Bilingual Spanish/English strongly desired. Compensation and Benefits: + The compensation starts at $60,000 annually and increases based on years of experience. + BHCHP full time employees are eligible for our competitive time off policy of 4 weeks’ vacation, health, dental and vision insurance, 403B retirement savings plan and employer retirement contribution, and pre-tax MBTA pass program with 40% discount. In addition, eligible employees will receive yearly increases, additional compensation of seven thousand five hundred added to your base hiring rate for demonstrated bilingual proficiency and the opportunity to work with local hospitals and community health centers.
