Position:  Manager of Indirect Tax

Job Description:

The Manager of Indirect Tax oversees all aspects of indirect taxes within the organization, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and optimizing tax strategies. Reporting to senior management, the Tax Manager leads a team of indirect tax analysts and collaborates with other departments to achieve tax-related objectives.

Core Responsibilities & Duties: 

Develop and maintain the organization's compliance calendar for indirect taxes, ensuring timely filing and payment of all applicable taxes Oversee the analysis, review, and filing of required returns, tracking associated due dates and payments Manage invoices and bills associated with annual returns and renewals, ensuring prompt receipt and payment Maintain complete and audit-ready indirect tax files, ensuring all support documents are accurate and up to date Research, track, and resolve any issues or discrepancies arising from indirect tax notices, providing guidance to the team as needed Ensure accurate documentation to satisfy internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements Stay updated on domestic tax laws, court decisions, and administrative pronouncements to ensure compliance and identify tax-saving opportunities Interpret tax law changes and assess their impact on tax positions and calculations, providing strategic guidance to senior management Research indirect tax requirements for new locations or acquisitions, coordinating with relevant departments to ensure compliance Support internal and external audit requirements, providing necessary documentation and assistance Adhere to strict tax reporting deadlines and oversee the team's compliance with timelines Undertake ad-hoc tasks and projects as required by senior management Provide ongoing support and guidance to indirect tax analysts, fostering their professional development

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required; CPA or Masters of Tax is a plus 6+ years of prior experience in corporate tax, with a focus on indirect taxes Strong understanding of financial accounting practices and direct tax compliance Proficiency in Oracle and MS Office Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
