OverviewThe reimagined Newport Beachside Hotel and Resort will relaunch as The Sunny, Miami’s new premier beachside retreat opening in late 2024. We are looking for a results driven, hands on IT Manager to ensure smooth technological operations as we transition into this exciting new phase.
The future Sunny in the heart of Sunny Isles Beach is poised to redefine the beach getaway experience offering a perfect blend of rich history and unparalleled amenities. The resort will feature 339 spacious guest rooms, an eclectic private art collection, six food and beverage outlets, a fitness center, spa & salon, ocean-front pool with tiki bar and fire pits, beach club, and over 22,000 square feet of event space, including a unique oceanfront terrace.
*Please note, this is an ON-SITE position. This is not a remote position. Must have knowledge of Opera PMS and credit card processors like Shift4/Merchant link, and Elevon.
Responsibilities Oversee and manage the hotel's IT systems, including Opera PMS, credit card processors (Shift4, Merchant Link, Elevon), and all network-related hardware and software.Provide technical support to all hotel departments, resolving system issues quickly to minimize operational disruptions.Ensure the security of hotel networks and systems, implementing best practices to prevent unauthorized access, breaches, and data loss.Work closely with technology vendors and service providers to maintain system upgrades, manage contracts, and ensure that all systems are operating at peak efficiency.Regularly monitor, update, and maintain IT systems, including servers, databases, Wi-Fi, and all integrated software applications, to prevent downtime and optimize performance.Ensure that all systems meet compliance standards for data protection and guest privacy, following industry regulations and hotel policies.Lead IT projects related to the hotel’s ongoing renovations, ensuring systems are upgraded, installed, and integrated smoothly with minimal disruption.Train hotel staff on IT systems, including Opera PMS and credit card processors, ensuring they are confident in their use and troubleshooting basic issues.Serve as the point person for all IT-related issues and emergencies, troubleshooting problems quickly and implementing solutions that prevent recurrence. Qualifications Proven experience as an IT Manager or in a senior IT role, preferably within the hospitality industry.Strong working knowledge of Opera PMS and credit card processors like Shift4, Merchant Link, and Elevon.Experience managing network systems, firewalls, and guest-facing technology such as Wi-Fi, in-room entertainment, and guest services platforms.Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Strong communication skills with the ability to train and support hotel staff in using IT systems.Knowledge of data protection regulations and best practices for IT security.Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
