Apply today to our Manager of Laboratory and be a part of the innovation of ideas. **Job Summary and Qualifications** The Manager of Laboratory is responsible for the activities, supervision, management and direction of the Laboratory Department in accordance with organizational and departmental philosophy and goals. This position will assist the Director in maintaining the highest degree of clinical and operational performance of the Department. The Manager is responsible for leadership of Laboratory personnel and/or students and functions as a resource for physicians, nursing staff and patients. The Manager will be responsible for the delivery of professional Laboratory care and provides leadership to staff. This position requires basic understanding and ability to utilize the Laboratory process, develop and enforce guidelines of medical plan of care and departmental policies, as well as assess patients in order to plan, intervene and evaluate care. What qualifications you will need: + A.S. Degree or equivalent required. B.A. / B.S. Degree preferred. + Valid and active California Clinical Laboratory Scientist Generalist license required + Hospital laboratory experience and managerial/leadership experience required + Required: Operational understanding of the following areas - Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Blood Bank (Transfusion Services), Microbiology, and Urinalysis - to function as a Technical Supervisor + ASCP Certification strongly preferred + 3 years work experience in area of supervision required + 1-3 years of progressive hospital laboratory management experience required + Experience with inspections, quality management, and regulatory bodies preferred (CLIA, CMS, Joint Commission) strongly preferred + Evidence of experience which defines competency in Laboratory, hospital and healthcare management + Evidence of experience in successful administration and leadership of organizational management programs Good Samaritan Hospital (https://goodsamsanjose.com/) has been serving Silicon Valley since 1965, giving patient's access to highly-trained physicians and advanced technology.
