Manager of Logistics, 3PL Provider Management

 

The Opportunity: Contribute To the Growth of Your Career.

Be part of a team that leads strategic development of Third Party Logistics providers who operate more than 24 Service Centers (including associated transportation), 15 Transload/Consolidation locations, and 3 Ocean Carriers (PR/HI).  Additionally this person is also responsible for the relationship management and procurement for Yard Services.  Responsible for assessing and driving cost-effective and productive 3rd party carrier initiatives that impact the supply chain, ensuring seamless execution in supporting and enabling TJX business goals.

 

Responsibilities:

Identifies opportunities to improve TJX Logistics Provider strategy, inclusive of Logistics Provider performance, market trends, and demand shifts in the marketplaceBuilds and maintains relationship with 3PL Providers and serves as point of contactMeets regularly with 3PL partners to discuss forecasts and capacity information to improve planningResponsible for Service Center, Transload, Consolidation, and Yard contractual agreements.  Negotiates contract amendments to support new ventures and/or adjustments to existing services.Analyzes Logistics Providers performance; develops and monitors performance improvement plans.  Enforces service requirements for compliance to contractual obligationsResearches industry performance, standards, and benchmarks to analyze 3PL Provider performanceConducts formal 3PL business reviews, and makes relationship decisions as appropriateEngages with relevant stakeholders, as needed, for the engagement or release of 3PL ProvidersServes as a point of escalation for operational chronic or repetitive issues with 3PL ProvidersDefines and executes negotiation strategy and contracts to create a sustainable partnership with 3PL ProvidersDefines schedule for, leads, and executes sourcing events on a defined cadenceProcures capacity for special projects, approves spot rates Develops and negotiates contract language and terms with service providers in partnership with VP of Carrier Strategy and TJX Legal

Who We Are Looking For: You.

Bachelor’s Degree in the following areas; Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business, Finance, Legal or equivalent work experience5+ years of experience in a logistics leadership/management operational role with another 5+ years of other relevant management experienceExceptional negotiating skillsStrong problem solving and analytical mindsetStrong informal influencingTransportation industry and regulation understandingTransportation contract knowledge and legal acumenDemonstrated leadership capability

 

This position has a starting salary range of $111,300 to $144,800 per year.

Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

This position is eligible for an annual incentive as well as long-term incentives.
