Manager of Materials Management

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Provides direct supervision to the Material's Management area and its related functions and systems to meet the supply needs of AHN. This calls for planning, organizing and evaluating department resources and systems with emphasis on receiving, bulk and process stores, material handling and distribution, inventory management, linen management, order data entry, expediting, copy/mail operations and other related materials management functions.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage, deploy and evaluate staff and available resources in a manner consistent with the materials management mission; organizational and departmental policies and standards; audit and regulatory requirements and sound business practices. (40%)Develops and maintains a positive and professional relationship with customers and support departments to ensure open lines of communication and understanding of customer needs, issue identification and resolution, customer in-service and education and improvement planning. (15%)Develop department staff through ongoing coaching, in-service education, on-the-job training and performance evaluation to improve employee job satisfaction and outcomes. (20%)Develops, monitors, and reports quality and performance indicators in accordance with established standards and best practices, budget plan, policies and standards within the organization, department and industry. (10%)Maintain adherence and updated knowledge of all organizational, federal, state and local regulatory bodies including, but not limited to, the PA Department of Health, OSHA, DOT and the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Health Care Organizations. (15%).

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.5-7 years’ materials management experience.Minimum 3 years supervisory and materials management experience.Thorough knowledge of automated supply chain principles, warehousing and inventory control.Valid driver's license.

Preferred

BA/BS Degree. Supply Chain, Finance, BusinessExperience working in a healthcare environment.Supply chain certification
