This includes, but is not limited to: Training Development and Implementation, Operations Support, IT Support, Construction Support and Marketing Support. Identify new store operational and training needs and makes recommendations to Senior Management. Ensure the proper development and delivery of the programs needed to maintain consistent delivery of our high operational standards. During the pre-opening phase of a restaurant, the Manager of New Store Openings plays the lead role in preparing the restaurant for the Operations Team, while instilling the service standards, culture and values of Fox Restaurant Concepts in our new team members. As the mentor to the respective station trainers, the Manager leads by example: knowing the menu inside and out, being well groomed, being punctual, being respectful and imparting knowledge and hospitality to all crew members. The Manager typically arrives several weeks prior to the opening date to prepare the restaurant for training and supports all other company departments with their preparations. The assignment may last into several weeks post opening to ensure a smooth ongoing operation. From time to time, may provide additional post opening training and operations support to new stores and to existing FRC restaurant operations. RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the planning, development, delivery, evaluation and enhancement of comprehensive new store training and development programs to meet Fox Restaurant Concepts business goals and objectives Conduct a series of training sessions for employees according to an established training outline, which will result in the readiness of the employees to handle business in a proficient manner when the restaurant opens for business. A number of “hands on” training sessions will take place on site Work with the Director of Training to create a training foundation, maintain on-going, constantly evolving new store training programs for all FRC Brands for both front-of-house, and back-of-house employees Cooperate with direction based on tracking & reporting tools are in place to determine satisfaction and effectiveness for our employees Select, train, develop, evaluate, and motivate new store opening trainers to ensure we best utilize personnel and talent. Teach all policies and procedures to new trainers Oversee, direct, and facilitate development conferences for new store opening trainers Work directly with Operations Team to ensure consistency in training program delivery & measurements Assist HR and Operations departments in efforts to reduce opening employee and management turnover Help coordinate and provide training to managers on systems and processes regarding the facility Coordinate with the Marketing department prior to and during training / VIP parties Support the IT department through training, hands on troubleshooting, and follow-up Work with other departments to help coordinate efforts for recruiting, menu development, promotional planners, calendars, and other cross-department projects Know and follow all FRC policies and procedures. Set THE standard for opening procedures, organization, and cleanliness for all areas of the restaurant Supervise the coaching of all new store employees on menu/beverage/front desk knowledge and steps of service standards Supervise the testing of all new employees on policies, procedures, menu/beverage/front desk knowledge and steps of service. Assist in grading of tests Provide feedback regarding progress of trainees to Regional Operations Directors and Store Management Assist in facilitation of Job Fair, Orientation, Steps of Service classes, POS training classes, wine/beverage classes, food show Assist in receiving of opening orders for the restaurant (Product, Supplies, D&U, etc.) Assist where necessary in the screening of applicants (Job Fair) Provide immediate feedback and coaching to trainees during mock service and VIP parties Monitor and observe guests dining experience. Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests Be ready and willing to assist Management staff and trainers as situations arise. Be ready and willing to assist trainees as situations arise Participate in proactive communication to help avoid and solve operational, HR, and financial issues Be available to fill in as needed to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor REQUIREMENTS: 5-7 years Training experience in the restaurant industry required, preferably within an upscale casual environment. 2-3 years experience in a Training team/department. Assistant General Manager experience or above preferred Position requires extensive, frequent and long-term travel. Up to 75% of the year Hands on experience working to develop and implement Training programs within a large company Bachelor's degree is preferred Restaurant Operations (training) experience required, with new restaurant opening experience a plus Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of our guests, managers, kitchen and dining room personnel Minimum of two years like volume restaurant serving experience; have basic knowledge of dining room service procedures Possess basic math, and computer skills and the ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system Must possess strong interpersonal and motivational skills, the ability to effectively supervise and instill cooperation in staff, and the ability to work well under pressure Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours) Be able to safely lift & easily maneuver trays of food frequently weighing up to 20-25 pounds Must have exceptional grooming habits Who Is Sam Fox?
