The Manager of Patient Services works closely with the Director and Assistant Director to ensure we run efficiently and effectively while providing excellent customer service to our patients.  The Manager has strong leadership skills and acts as a mentor and coach to all of the patient services staff.  

 

Primary Responsibilities:  

Supports the day-to-day operations of the Patient Services Department Oversees the Patient Services Training Program.  Ensures trainers are leading the classes and following our established training protocols.  Reviews the training material regularly to ensure we capture all recent industry changes Works with the Patient Services Management Team to lead the Patient Services Education Team and assists with education curriculum Perform continual training guides, build, testing, go-live support at the different building locations, and post-live optimization while setting expectations  Works with Revenue Cycle to capture the most up-to-date insurance practices Works with the staff to make Patient Services a strong initial step in the Revenue Cycle process.  This includes capturing all necessary demographic and insurance information accurately to ensure successful claim submission Develops and continually updates insurance eligibility tools, including PAR and Non-Par lists, carrier eligibility rules, educational guides to load insurances into the electronic medical record Develops and updates knowledge libraries for the entire Patient Services department for use with external scheduling applications Takes the lead in developing new policies and procedures to ensure we are following best practices and providing excellent patient care.   Routinely reviews all existing policies and updates them appropriately, keeping them relevant Define, develop and share patient solution objectives, reporting, and implementing processes, to drive effectiveness and efficiency for all Patient Access software, including Phreesia and EMR applications and BI reports and dashboards with the internal teams Manage Day to Day contact with internal and external teams and vendors regarding all Patient Access software, including Phreesia, EMR applications, BI reports and dashboards Gather, document, troubleshoot, and problem solve reported software issues and escalate appropriately Manage and prioritize escalations internally and externally to resolve issues with software performance Supports the Director with selecting, developing, managing, and evaluating direct and indirect reports Assists in developing daily, monthly, quarterly and annual goals for all teams within Patient Services.  Works directly with each location to develop measurable goals; identifies the goal, develops the plan to achieve, tracks and trends the data, root cause analysis, and presents the outcome Assists in continuously assessing the KPIs for Patient Services and compares them to industry standards.  Identify trends/changes in patterns in metrics, assess and report on root causes and financial impact Ongoing process review and implementation of necessary changes to address the increase/decrease in patient volume and to improve efficiency Interacts and supports the Patient Service Supervisors by scheduling meetings and on-site visits while providing performance data Oversees the Patient Access Specialists with their audits, meetings, and education Demonstrates flexibility in scheduling and/or traveling to meet patient and office needs

Required Qualifications:  

2+ years of leadership experience  Solid Microsoft Office Suite skillset Knowledge of In-Network and Out-of-Network health insurance payers Knowledge of patient registration and scheduling appointments across multiple programs 

 

Preferred Qualifications:    

Experience working in a provider’s office or hospital setting EPIC experience     

 

New York Residents Only: The salary range for New York residents is $70,200 to $137,800 annually.
