**Responsibilities**
The Physical Security Operations Manager is a member of the Mayo Clinic Enterprise Physical Security Risk Management team. The manager provides security management and security consulting services to campus functions and entities. The incumbent manages all aspects of site physical security staff and conducts security surveys, threat and risk assessments, investigations, evaluations of security equipment and technology, and special projects or assignments as directed and in collaboration with the enterprise security operations team and operational risk management team. Coordinates an appropriate security response in emergency situations. Implements tools to collect and report information in an accurate and timely manner regarding daily security activity and incidents. Promotes on-going development of all staff and responsible for maintaining a professional environment in which staff can grow and develop. Responsibilities also include coordinating and/or conducting training for the physical security personnel, as well as security and loss prevention awareness education for employees, and researching, reviewing, and/or revising security-related policies, procedures, and standards, and other duties as assigned.
The incumbent must possess interpersonal skills to interact effectively with personnel at all levels of the organization, including the ability to deal effectively with ambiguous situations and the varying political/cultural environments within the institution. The incumbent must possess the ability to work collaboratively across the Enterprise and balance the requirements and/or priorities of site-based responsibilities against Enterprise initiatives to inspire/foster change.

**Qualifications**
**Qualifications:**
Bachelor’s degree with five years of progressively responsible security supervisory experience. Associates degree with seven years of progressively responsible security supervisory experience. HS/GED with nine years of progressively responsible security supervisory experience.
Must have a minimum of five years of investigations, interviewing witnesses, and investigative report processing experience. Effective in leading, developing, motivating, and coaching a diverse team of security and technology professionals.
The Physical Security Operations Manager must demonstrate leadership and team building skills, the ability to deal tactfully with persons involved in stressful situations, strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and excellent verbal and written communications skills. Certified Protection Professional, Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator, or equivalent, or will obtain certification within two years of hire.

Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record in accordance with Mayo Clinic Policy.
