As a Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking Administration team, you lead multiple teams and manage day-to-day implementation activities by identifying and escalating issues and ensuring your team’s work adheres to compliance standards, business requirements, and tactical best practices.

Job responsibilities

Provides guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activitiesSets the overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaborationAnticipates dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirementsManages stakeholder relationships and the team’s work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirementsCreates a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for the team members and prioritizes diverse representation

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, demonstrated coaching and mentoring experience10+ years of development experience with 7+ years of recent experience in Java development2+ years of experience leading and managing software engineering teams, with a focus on individual growth and overall team performance.Proficient in automation and continuous delivery methodsProficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life CycleAdvanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security and Practical cloud native experienceIn-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systemsExperience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and expertise in technology disciplinesVery good exposure of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices.Hands on experience working with APIs (especially Open API), ensuring efficient communication and integration between different systems.Proven record of providing end-user support with excellent problem-solving abilities.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Experience working at code level.Experience with KafkaEnthusiasm for learning new technologies, with a focus on public cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
