As a Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within Asset & Wealth Management, you will spend 70% of your time actively coding and developing solutions, while dedicating 30% to team management and administrative responsibilities. You will guide your team in implementing cutting-edge technologies, ensuring compliance with standards, and meeting business requirements.

Job responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, providing guidance on daily tasks and activities. Set expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration, ensuring alignment with business goals. Identify and manage dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications effectively. Oversee stakeholder relationships and ensure the team’s work adheres to compliance standards and service level agreements. Foster a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect, prioritizing diverse representation within the team.

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience Hands-on experience with one or more programming languages (Java, Spring Boot, Python) & AWS (Note: AWS experience is mandatory) Experience with middleware/integration technologies such as Kafka and MQ Proven experience in leading technology projects and managing technologists Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle Advanced understanding of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security. Basic knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems Practical cloud-native experience, with hands-on experience in AWS; AWS Developer Associate certification is preferred Education in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and expertise in technology disciplines
