Position Overview:
We seek a highly organized and adaptable Special Projects Manager with experience in Railway industry software development solutions, such as railway movement planning and dispatch solutions, to lead and execute various strategic initiatives across multiple departments. The ideal candidate will have excellent project management skills, a proactive mindset, the ability to lead business development efforts, and the ability to manage complex tasks with attention to detail. This role involves overseeing special projects that may fall outside the scope of routine operations, requiring creativity, problem-solving abilities, and cross-functional collaboration.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Project Leadership: Manage and oversee the execution of special projects, from initiation to completion. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with senior management, department heads, and other stakeholders to define project objectives, goals, and deliverables. Strategic Planning: Support the business head(s) in the creation of a portfolio strategy Communication: Maintain clear and regular communication with stakeholders, providing updates on project progress, challenges, and successes. Reporting and Analysis: Support the business leads in the definition, tracking, and reporting on key Business Objectives and Key Results (OPRs) Business Development: Lead areas of Business Development as assigned by the business head(s) Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement best practices to increase project/portfolio efficiency and outcomes.To thrive in this role, you have:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Operations, or related field. PMP or similar project management certification is preferred. Senior domain experience may quality as a substitute of University Degree. Experience: 10+ years of experience in project management, preferably in the Railroad industry. Project Management experience must include a history of managing software development delivery project from inception to completion. Experience in Sales or Business Development Proven track record of successfully managing cross-functional projects from inception to completion. Experience in handling high-priority, time-sensitive, and complex projects. Experience in process improvement. Experience in leading projects in the fields of Railway Network Movement Planning, Railway Dispatching, or Positive Train Control (PTC) is preferred. Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Comfortable with customer management and engagement. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively. Proficient in project and portfolio management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Trello, Microsoft Project) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Budget management experience. Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Personal Attributes

The base salary range for this position in Jacksonville, FL and Munhall, PA is $154,100 - $181,400. The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications. The annual incentive target is 20% of the base salary.
