Position Summary Information Position Summary The Director of University Events is responsible for administering a comprehensive program of events designed to assist SRU in becoming a visible and prominent leader in the world of higher education. In context of planning for the University Comprehensive Campaign special events and stewardship of potential donors, the individual will work with University Advancement officials in concert with the President’s Office professional staff on these important efforts. Special events will also encourage the residents of Slippery Rock and surrounding communities, alumni, and donors to participate in campus life by creating an environment that they are proud to experience with rich cultural and educational components. This position works directly with numerous offices and participates as part of the Advancement and President’s teams to advance the University through continuous improvement of engagement and stewardship strategies and activities. This position serves as a consultant to campus constituencies seeking to mount events by providing planning, design, and administrative counsel. This skilled professional works primarily independently and requires certain abilities to plan and execute both large and small events with grace, professionalism, and creativity.
