Position Purpose:Oversee health and safety compliance at field locations in Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland and if required from time to time the wider UK. Ensure incidents are properly entered into the EHS management system, appropriately investigated, effective corrective actions assigned, and properly closed.
Carry out assessments of facility compliance with company H&S programs and regulatory/permit requirements. Review and assist in the creation Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work as required and ensure they are rolled out and adopted in each location.
Work with the EHS Permit team in UK to provide information as requested from time to time. Provide support to other EHS departments, as needed, to assist in safety program implementation, claims management as requested by our Risk team, training and medical surveillance. All with an overarching goal to prevent accidents and correct unsafe working conditions.
Key Job Activities:Assist Operations to maintain facility compliance with all permits and health & safety regulations by assessing facilities on a routine basis.
Quality control all incident entries into our EHS Management system to ensure accuracy, adequate investigation, root cause analysis, setting and closure of corrective actions.
Implementing, embedding and ensuring compliance with our EHS policies, procedures and programs.
Work with the Operations team to review and/or create Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work as needed; ensure they are trained out to all relevant personnel.
Perform comprehensive EHS audits as part of a cross-functional team (~1 per location per year).
Perform other related duties as required or requested.
Education: Experience (North America & LATAM):Education equivalent to bachelor’s degree in a Science, Engineering Healthcare, or Environmental discipline, and/or Diploma level Health & Safety qualification or the equivalent in related work experience, demonstrating knowledge of H&S regulations and compliance.
Experience (EMEAA):Fluent to a high standard in both spoken written English.
Industry Experience, demonstrating good knowledge of regulatory requirements as they apply to the waste industry desirable but not essential.
Demonstrates working knowledge of European, national, and local EHS regulations in the countries you are responsible for or willing to familiarise yourself within a reasonable timescale.
Demonstrates proficient computer skills.
