SUMMARY
Patient Access manager will be responsible for overseeing various front end revenue cycle functions in multiple hospital settings for a specific region. These include pre-registration, insurance verification, point-of-service cash collections, financial counseling, registration, team member on-boarding and training while paying particular attention to addressing the needs of our patients and team members.
The Patient Access manager will work collaboratively with hospital leaders, administration, and revenue cycle to ensure that the Patient Access Department is supporting the operation of the RRH organization. In addition to revenue cycle activities, Access Associates serve important hospitality and safety functions for patients. Leaders must also exhibit excellent customer service skills to help ensure high patient satisfaction.

ATTRIBUTES
3 - 5 years’ experience in a hospital or practice setting with at least 2 of those years leading operational support staff required. Managing registration/ admitting/ billing practices preferred.RESPONSIBILITIES
Supports Rochester Regional Health System’s vision and strategic plan; create a culture of engagement to support improvement. Focuses on improving patient throughput within the organization, physician and team member satisfaction as well as the patient experience.•Prepares and analyzes reports on department denials. Utilizes information available within Care connect to identify opportunities to optimize and streamline workflows, challenging status quo in an effort to maximize organization efficiencies. Tracking and trending of productivity and quality. Ensures the accuracy of all data collected in order to support account integrity and claims submission.Monitors various departments under their supervision to ensure compliance with NYS regulations as well as with revenue cycle procedures.Responsible for the financial operations of the department. Reviews monthly financial performance. Identifies opportunities for improvement and develops plan to implement necessary changes to meet budget goals. Participates in annual budget development and is accountable for department adherence to budget. Ensures compliance to fiscal standards with focus on volume, payer mix, fees, customer service initiatives, productivity, labor, and supply costs. Encourages and initiates continuing education and job development to improve department operations. Ensures excellent customer service skills through mentoring and coaching of all direct reports. In conjunction with Human Resources, participates in the recruitment, hiring, coaching and mentoring, and termination of access staff. Provides management, guidance and training to staff in daily department operations.Works with department leaders in maintaining adequate staffing coverage, for the 24/7 coverage of the hospital setting, to ensure demands are met. Motivates staff and organizes day-to-day activity of department. Maintains standardized work flows and best practices that have been established by RRH. Performs duties of subordinate staff when necessary to maintain operations. Participates with director in reviewing performance indicators including but not limited to account work queues, point of service collection, initial denials and new medical record creation.Other duties as assigned, including assisting with registration/ admissions of patients.

13662The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
