We’re looking for qualified candidates like you to join our Texas Health family._ + Work location: Texas Health Resources + Core work hours: Monday-Friday 8:00a – 5:00p **Position Summary** Leadership and management of a Clinical and Behavioral Health Transfer Center Staff and program management. Average number of assigned staff is 50-80. Responsible for the daily operations of the PLC including all direct/indirect transfer center issues. exercises covering a wide variety of threat, hazard, and risk scenarios. Determines the need for EM plan and procedural changes. Provides direct leadership to effectively manage emergencies at the System-level, such as regional natural disasters, multi-location incidents, and critical emergencies. Where appropriate, directly leads emergency response at a system-level or acts in support of the designated System Incident Commander. Develops and implements policies and programs that prepare the organization for significant disruption, ensures consistency in the EM program across the system, and meets Joint Commission and other compliance requirements. Coordinates with local, state, and federal EM officials. Develops and oversees public-private partnerships that benefit the System. Maintains expert knowledge of Texas Health's processes and hazards, interfaces with engineering and operations staff to ensure the appropriate development of healthcare channel, facility, and site-specific hazard and emergency classification procedures. Prepares technical reports based on the expert interpretation of analyzed data. **Job Description** Accomplishes department objectives by managing PLC staff by planning and evaluating department activities. Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, hiring, orienting, and training employees. Plans and organizes tasks and duties. Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results. Coaches, counsels, and disciplines employees. Develops, coordinates, monitors, and enforces systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards. Establishes strategic goals by gathering pertinent business, financial, service, and operations information to improve transfer center efficiency. Defines objectives, identifies and evaluates trends and options, chooses a course of action, and evaluates outcomes to transfer data. Accomplishes financial objectives by forecasting requirements for staffing, assists with annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions. Maintains quality service by enforcing quality and customer service standards, analyzing and resolving quality and customer service problems, and recommending system improvements. Contributes to improve quality and usefulness of reports on PLC patterns at entities by working with internal and external leaders Contributes to the development and optimization of key THR analytic tools and processes. Monitors PLC staff and collaborates with central bed placement and staffing manager to ensure effective bed movement and throughput in CC1 Conducts transfer center audits to ensure the right patient, the right bed, right doctor, at the right level of care Responsible for patient safety and risk management of the department, e.g., identifies high-risk situations and initiates the problem-solving process with the involvement of the team and other necessary stakeholders Effectively and continually communicates with Executive leader, staff, and customers to facilitate bi-directional information necessary to the success of the employees, department, and the organization. Complete initial review of service inquiries and communicates results with director; provides timely, consistent follow-up to all customers. Manage and maintain a strong working relationship between the Transfer Center and all participating entities. Collaborates with other leaders and caregivers to plan, monitor, implement and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of patient transfers Facilitates clinical capabilities of the Transfer Center as it pertains to patient movement in between entities Responsible for the daily operations of the PLC including all direct/indirect transfer center issues. Maintains a safe work environment and an environment promoting patient safety. Holds staff accountable for patient safety, clinical and professional performance standards and adherence to regulatory requirements. Provides positive feedback, coaching and corrective actions evident to support accountability for performance; Use of Applause system/thank you notes evident to support accomplishments toward departmental and organizational goals. Teamwork: Incorporates THR philosophy in working with peers, and other members of entity health care team. Consistently models THR Promise Behaviors and THR Leadership Behaviors. Actively promotes unit-based councils/committee structure and networks with peers to share ideas and conduct mutual problem solving. Participates in huddles, meetings, staffing calls/meetings. Demonstrates effective communication skills with families, patients, physicians and other members of the healthcare team. Works in coordination with other staff when entity activity dictates, monitoring patient care and providing direction to staff to promote quality outcomes. Collaborates with entities to promote safe individualized care as well as promoting accountability in enhancing the patient experience and patient safety. Demonstrates advocacy for patients and staff. Facilitates staff member attendance at assigned meetings, Townhalls, UBCs Plans and implements staff education supporting needs assessment, CSO initiatives, performance improvement plans, etc. Professional Development: Assimilates leadership responsibilities on the unit and throughout the entity and/or system. Promotes a positive image of Texas Health Nursing. Commits to autonomous maintenance and continuous improvement of competence and serves as a role model to other healthcare team members. Holds self and other accountable for highly reliable behavior. Demonstrates involvement in a professional organization, including certification in appropriate specialty if applicable. Participates in unit based, department, entity and/or system committees and task forces. Assists with strategic plan implementation to meet regulatory and compliance standards including KPIs, credential verification management, UBC, NCAP and Nursing Congress. Promotes a professional image of nursing in demeanor, appearance, attitude and behavior. Is flexible with scheduling to meet the needs of the department. Demonstrates accountability and responsibility by independently completing projects/assignments on time. Leads or participates in required meetings. Supports and promotes the Nursing Operations Plan. Engages in continuous learning and practice improvement by attending in-services and/or continuing education. Practice reflects current methodology supported by evidence-based practice. Complies with THR policies and procedure in accordance with the Texas Nursing Practice Act and ANA Code of Ethics. Develops personal growth opportunities. Undertakes periodic performance reviews. Maintains 100% compliance for self and staff licensing and required certifications. Meets financial benchmarks works within budgetary guidelines; considers costs and remains cost effective in performing duties, recommending staffing levels, hiring staff, and supervising staff; develops referral sources; works closely with Executive Leadership in meeting financial benchmarks and in all activities. Manager will monitor, track, and maintain department data for outcomes and trends. Will work with Executive leaders and entity leaders for weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting. Will review and modify reports to accurately reflect daily deliverables and outcome data. **Education** Bachelor's Degree Nursing Required **Experience** 3 Years Experience as a registered nurse with previous experience as a charge nurse or similar leadership role (i.e., charge nurse, committee chair, preceptor, supervisor) Required Managerial Experience in a clinical setting and/or nursing department Strongly Preferred Patient throughput experience Preferred Epic Experience is a plus Must have Microsoft applications experience specifically Excel Tableau Dashboards experience a Plus **Licenses and Certifications** RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required And CPR - Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Upon Hire Required **Skills** A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to multi-task.
