Manager - Pediatric Palliative Care
**Baystate Health, western Massachusetts’s premier healthcare provider, is seeking a Pediatric Palliative Care Manager.** **The Manager, of Pediatric Palliative Care, is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Baystate's outpatient pediatric palliative care program and services and is under the director's direction. Duties will include coordinating, organizing, staffing, and leading program services and activities.** **Job Responsibilities:** + Supervise a multidisciplinary team and ensure quality palliative care is provided to patients and families. + Coordinate and ensure the delivery of program services is provided in a prompt, efficient, and effective manner and in accordance with Baystate and program policies. + Ensure that referrals for services are timely evaluated and processed in accordance with program policies and protocols. + Personnel management of pediatric palliative care team members including interviewing and selecting candidates, training, annual performance reviews, coaching and disciplinary actions. + Work closely with the Director to develop and implement annual program goals and budget. + Appropriately report and/or record program revenue and expenses, and process program invoices timely. + Ensure that an effective volunteer program is maintained, and that volunteers are utilized suitably to meet the needs of the patients, families, and the program. + Maintain a bereavement program that meets the needs of the patients, families, and program. + Coordinate patient/family activities that supports the program’s objectives and goals. + Schedule and effectively and successfully supervise interdisciplinary team and staff meetings. + Identify barriers and service issues that will affect the program and resolve appropriately in collaboration with Director. + Identify, cultivate, and sustain meaningful partnerships with area healthcare providers and support services/resource organizations, and engage with strategic partners. + Oversee the collection and maintenance of patient records for statistical purposes according to the confidentiality and privacy policies of Baystate Health. + Ensure that all Pediatric Palliative Care Network (PPCN) contract terms are successfully met. + Serve as a program representative for the PPCN when needed and as requested by the Director. + Complete and submit program reporting as required and/or requested by PPCN and the Director.Other duties as assigned. **Minimum Required Experience:** + Bachelors degree + Minimum of three years of work experience in managing a healthcare or outreach program, preferably in a nonprofit environment. + Minimum of three years of work experience in a healthcare-related field, preferably in pediatrics or home care. **Skills/Competencies:** + Knowledge and experience in personnel management. + Knowledge and experience working in/with clinical, public health, and/or social service agencies. + Prior experience with volunteerism in the community. + Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs and have an aptitude for computers and working with various software programs. + Articulate, succinct, accurate and culturally competent in both written and spoken communication. + Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of providers, staff, families, resource organizations, and the general public. + Ability to quickly establish trust, gain rapport, and work effectively. + Demonstrated ability to relate to individuals and families of varied ethnic and cultural backgrounds, ages, and economic circumstances. + Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality of patient information. + Advanced time management abilities. + Strong work ethic, self-motivated, and collaborative leadership style. + Excellent critical thinking and consultative problem-solving skills. **You Belong At Baystate** At Baystate Health we know that treating one another with dignity and equity is what elevates respect for our patients and staff.
