Summary of the Role:
Provide leadership to process engineering, technology transfer & Greenfield/Brownfield Project management within or outside manufacturing facilities in Lubrizol India.
Communication:
Internal: LZ India and Oversees stakeholders from Operations team, Process technology, Project management group.
External: Engineering Consultants, Equipment suppliers, Automation packages suppliers and service providers.
Responsibilities / Accountabilities
Act as package owner by shouldering a key role in technology transfer from other plants; Coordinate with global technology team. Participate in Green field project starting from understanding on technology and technology transfer, safety studies (HAZOP, QRA, LOPA etc). Lead & coordinate for Design Basis & Calculations, Process Description, Control Scheme- interlocks and their valve matrix. PID and PFD review and comments based on technology. Lead basic and detail engineering of the process with engineering consultant. Verification of Heat and mass balance details for the project. Ensure process guarantees are in place from vendors and suppliers. Validate design specifications / Equipment data sheets, Scrutinize Tech offers. Develop and lead plant pre-commissioning and commissioning strategy and ensure timely completion of the same. Responsible for smooth product trials during commissioning, ensuring technology transfer, commissioning commercial production to achieve agreed final product specifications. Handing over taking over plant from technology suppliers/vendors while making sure supplies are as per defined quality and timelines. Proper handover of plant to Operations Team once the plant is mechanically complete and commissioned. Lead & develop training modules to train the operations team during pre-commissioning and commissioning phase.
Requirements (education, experience, competencies and specific job requirements):
Education / Certification:
Bachelor’s / master’s degree in chemical engineering from a reputed university & a minimum of 15 - 18 years experience in manufacturing, Process / Technology transfer and Project Management is MUST in chemical industries.
Experience and Skills:
15 to 18 years of experience in chemical/polymer/compounding plant operations in Manufacturing, Process Engineering and technology transfer. Hands-on experience to use software like Aspen+, MixIT, HTRI, AutoCad etc. & sound knowledge of Chemical plant unit operations are essential. Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, influence and negotiate with contractors/vendors, and Collaboration between consultants, manufacturers, project team.
