About Cadia


Our Cadia Valley Operation in New South Wales is situated about 25 kilometers from Orange and 250 kilometers west of Sydney. Cadia produces gold doré bars from a gravity circuit and gold-rich copper concentrates from a flotation circuit. The operation includes the Cadia East Mine which is globally renowned for its use of block caving, a large-scale underground mining method.

Who we’re looking for:

Reporting to the General Manager Cadia, the Manager Process Operations is responsible for overseeing the operations and management of the ore processing plants at Cadia, encompassing the Blayney dewatering facility, Ore & Molybdenum processing plants and Surface Operations.

 

The Manager Process Operations, will lead a team of technical experts ensuring that the process Operations departments are operating safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities include: Contribute to the development of the annual departmental strategy, providing Moly Plant & Concentrator inputs into the site annual business planning process to achieve a LOP plan with production and financial performance as per the budget.Achieve budget/estimate operating costs and strive to meet aspirational targets.Establish capital and operating budget monitoring, ensuring suitable cost controls are in place, and facilitate regular cost efficiency meetings with direct reports. Develop, progress and track specific Moly and Blayney plant & Concentrator cost reduction initiatives and activities. Promoting a framework for continuous improvement and progressively higher standards of workplace health and safety.Oversee the development of Operational strategies, objectives and plans and roll them out to the Operational team.Meet/exceed safe production requirements as per budget and forecast targets, in particular operational utilisation and effective rates through appropriate tactics and planning.Identify and assess operational risks; and ensure contingencies and controls are established to mitigate these risks, while ensuring risk management effectiveness.Providing opportunities for fair and effective workplace consultation, co-operation and issue resolution.Mentor and coach direct reports through routine sessions and ensure professional development opportunities are identified and implemented.Ensure all critical roles have career paths and succession plans developed.Clearly communicate safe operational performance targets, expectations and values.

 

 

The ideal candidate will be a strong people leader with demonstrated extensive experience in operational metallurgical roles.

You will also possess the following: Tertiary Qualification in Metallurgical/Chemical Engineering – Preferred Demonstrated experience as a manager of a Metallurgical Plant and/or Mining Operation– Preferred Extensive metallurgical experience in gold and base metals industry
