We are looking for an organized self-starter to join our team as a 2nd shift Section Manager in LPSD at the at building KK, in East Peoria, IL.

Responsibilities

Monitor and improve shop floor safety, identify risks, and aggressively eliminate unsafe processes

Takes full accountability for Quality within assigned value stream.  Executes feedback loop to causal parties and drives RCCA.  Improves process and human performance for issues directly related to the Assembly function. Leads Built-in-Quality (BIQ) efforts for value stream.

Assures Standard Work and Manufacturing Execution System is strictly followed to meet quality requirements and production schedules

Partners with Scheduling to optimize production plan, adjusts model mix and staff to meet flow and customer requirements

Lead with high standards and accountability; develop workforce and execute disciplinary action when appropriate

Partners with Supply Chain/Logistics to ensure material availability at point of use

Ensures preventive and operator-performed maintenance is conducted according to schedule

Coaches Lean Manufacturing & CPS practices and creates a culture of continuous improvement.  Drives problems solving to Quality and Timing defects.

Executes operator training program and builds flexibility by advancing cross training program

Initiates and conducts process improvement dialogs with Team Leads and Team Members

Leads CPS section status reporting and monitors / audits section metrics

Degree Requirement

Degree or equivalent experience desired

Skill Descriptors

Analytical Thinking: Level Extensive Experience

Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.

Process Improvement: Level Extensive Experience

Understanding and insight into evaluating current product quality and production methods and ability to maintains focus on the continuous improvement of processes, products and services.

Manufacturing Operations: Level Extensive Experience

Knowledge of manufacturing operations; ability to perform day-to-day operations of a manufacturing plant or facility for products.

Manufacturing Safety: Level Extensive Experience

Knowledge of manufacturing safety; ability to identify work-related hazards and perform necessary activities to meet regulatory requirements for the safety and protection of workers, environment and site.

Summary Pay Range:

$87,480.00 - $131,280.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
