Minimum requirements for the role:
A minimum B.Eng (Mechanical Engineering) is essential for this role. Advanced certificate in project management or similar. Previous experience having worked in a Projects Manager role working within the mineral / process and mining industries driving and managing various projects simultaneously. Experience having worked with hydraulics, gearboxes etc would be a distinct advantage. The successful candidate must have a project management or related diploma or certificate. Must have computer literacy MS Office and MS Projects (intermediate to advanced). A good understanding of inventor and AutoCAD (up to AutoCAD 2012) is essential. The person does not have to work on the system but will have to liaise with the engineering manager regarding drawings etc. A solid understanding of project management and execution is essential. Good Excel skills are essential as the person will be working with costings on Excel. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Managing and overseeing multiple engineering projects with regards to the supply of mineral processing and related equipment into the mining and mineral processing industries. Providing engineering support and service to clients as required. Assisting with the design of various engineering equipment. Conceptualising designs from illustrations and discussing them with clients. Adjusting and approving working drawings, draft plans etc. Ensuring projects drawings are completed accurately and within the deadlines given. Ensuring projects are completed within budget and timeously and that specifications are accurate. Liaising with sub-contractors, project houses and suppliers ensuring compliance to specifications. Compiling progress reports for the client and attending weekly project meetings. Conducting pre-commissioning checks and performing dry runs of equipment. Confirming that system are running according to specification. Performing test runs with products and then signing off work with client. Performing inspections on existing equipment at clients’ premises and advising clients on maintenance plans. Performing preventative maintenance tasks on existing equipment. Visiting existing clients to assess their needs and requirements. Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
