Are you passionate about Quality Assurance? S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to join our QA department. As a Manager-Quality Assurance, you’ll be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team.
The Quality Assurance organization provides a variety of services aimed at helping our internal customers, which include S&C leaders and team members, deliver superior quality to our customers. Quality planning, inspection, audit, quality information, quality improvement consulting, and quality communications are examples of the kind of services the organization provides.
The Manager – Quality Assurance is responsible for overseeing all quality aspects of S&C’s Palatine, Illinois manufacturing plant. Quality Engineers, along with Quality Technologists, will report directly to the Senior Manager – Quality Assurance. While working closely with Product Engineering and Value Steam Engineering, the Manager - Quality Assurance determines the quality standards for the production lines and fabrication processes and facilitates problem-solving using established quality tools. The Manager – Quality Assurance is also be responsible to develop and implement quality improvements within the process to reduce both DPU, increase yields, and address customer-reported quality issues.
Key Responsibilities:
Department Leadership: Led a team of quality assurance professionals in supporting the creation and maintenance of quality standards for U.S. manufactured products. Project Leadership: Lead large-scale quality improvement projects, including quality engineering and production team members. Operational Strategy: Formulate operational strategies to increase inspection productivity within processes. Production Operations Support: Create and maintain quality controls to support production operations, with a focus on assigned groups such as assembly. Solve quality problems and identify preventative process improvements. Provide quality support for production by working closely with production, value stream engineering, and product engineering teams on quality-related issues and improvements. Problem Solving: Utilize problem-solving skills to identify root causes of quality problems, using established quality tools. Identify and implement built-in quality processes. Facilitate four-step problem-solving activities. Inspection Guidance: Ensure that all inspection processes are documented and up-to-date. Support the QA management team in formulating strategies to increase inspection productivity within processes. Metrics: Utilize quality feedback and metrics to identify design and process improvements. Look for customer performance strategy improvements to enhance yields and product quality metrics. Continuous Improvement: Proactively monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to develop and update the approach to quality excellence. Budget Support: Provide support for the department budget. Compliance: Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules.What you’ll Need To Succeed:
Required
12+ years of overall quality experience, with at least five years in a leadership role. Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), including ISO 9001. Demonstrated experience in process analytics with a broad knowledge of quality tools and industry metrics. Sound business acumen and analytical skills with the ability to use and analyze data to drive informed decisions, problem-solve complex issues and leverage data and learnings to drive continuous improvement. Great communication skills, (written, verbal, listening and presentation) able to liaise with internal and external stakeholders at all levels from senior executives to support staff. Creative and persuasive in communicating how interventions can improve current practices. Exceptional interpersonal skills to establish meaningful relationships built on mutual trust and respect and foster collaborative working relationships amongst a diverse audience. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, including the flexibility to work extended hours when necessary. Great organizational, planning and project management skills, coordinating internal and external resources and juggling key account demands. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, paying strict attention to accountability and project goals. Demonstrate enthusiasm, drive, and a sense of urgency. Sound leadership skills with an ability to lead, guide, mentor and delegate to deliver results, build teams and capabilities, embrace change, drive decisions and results, embrace culture and inclusion and exhibit integrity. Great computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office applications; specifically, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and PowerBI.Preferred
Experience in a large (2+ billion dollar revenue) B2B manufacturing company Certified Quality Manager (CMQ) certification from ASQEnvironmental and Hazardous Conditions
