Riverside Healthcare in Kankakee, Illinois, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Manager of Quality Improvement. This leadership role provides leadership and directs work efforts associated with the quality program activities such as patient safety, public reporting, regulatory and accreditation readiness and performance improvement. This position is responsible for overseeing the development, coordination, and strategic development of initiatives within the health system that will help improve quality metrics.

The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with clinical and administrative team to enhance patient care, ensure compliance with federal; and state regulatory standards. Promote a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization. Provides guidance and structure for holding coworkers and facility accountable for achieving performance goals. As a salaried professional, you may be expected to work above your FTE. As a leader, you will have 24/7 accountability for department/area. Additionally, this position requires flexibility with assignments within professional scope/duties/licensure.

Required Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years in healthcare experience in healthcare quality management or risk management with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role.

• Experience in data analysis, project management, and compliance with healthcare standards.

• Competence in application of problem-solving frameworks such as six sigma, DMAIC, PDCA Cycle

• Strong knowledge of quality improvement methodologies (e.g., ISO 9001, Lean, Six Sigma, PDCA) and regulatory standards.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Proven ability to lead teams and manage projects effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Preferred Experience:

• Prior experience with implementing new processes

• Strong organization skills with the ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple engagements while leading a team to meet organizational goals and strategic intents

• Proficient in the application of problem-solving frameworks such as six sigma, DMAIC, PDCA Cycle

• Leading and participation in processes to prepare for, participate in, and follow up on regulatory, accreditation and certification surveys and activities.

Required Licensure/Education:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN), Healthcare Administration, or a related field. If a RN, BSN degree is required.

· Effective 4/01/2024: Upon hire or within 12 months of start date, must complete and maintain a nationally ANCC-recognized nursing leadership or nursing specialty certification.

Preferred Licensure/Education:

· Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or relevant healthcare license.

· Master’s degree preferred  

 

Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement quality improvement strategies and programs that align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.

• Monitor and analyze quality metrics, patient outcomes and performance indicators to identify trends and patterns in data that will facilitate improvement.

• Lead interdisciplinary teams in quality improvement projects, facilitating meetings and ensuring effective communication among stakeholders.

• Use performance and process improvement (PPI), project management and change management methods to support operational and clinical quality initiatives, improve performance and achieve organizational goals.

• Conduct regular audits and assessment to ensure compliance with healthcare standards and best practices.

• Provide training and support to staff on quality improvement methodologies tools and processes.

• Collaborate with clinical leadership to develop and implement evidence-based practices that enhance patient safety and quality of care.

• Oversee quality healthcare reporting requirements for data acquisition, analysis, reporting, and improvement.

• Stay current with industry trends, regulations and best practices in quality improvement and patient safety.

• Ability to prioritize, organize, carry out work assignments independently and efficiently and have the ability to work independently and be self-directed and flexible.
