Manager Rail Signal Infrastructure
Roles and Responsibilities
+ Manages the Signal Training School. Oversees design and development of specialized technical training programs. Coordinates hiring of new employees.
+ Manages the presentation and delivery of training programs for Signal technical skills.
+ Identifies and analyzes training needs to improve Signal Department performance.
+ Manages the Office of Signal Practices to ensure compliance with FRA regulations.
+ Manages the Infrastructure Engineering Trouble Desk to ensure timely resolution of problems.
+ Investigates interface issues between the Train Management and Control system and field equipment.
+ Reviews and comments on in-house design and specifications for Rail infrastructure capital projects and programs.
+ Prepares, reviews, and approves various project reports, status reports, and cost estimates, including approval of material and equipment requisitions and vehicle reports.
+ Establishes standards for Rail infrastructure maintenance. Ensures standardized inventory, improved reliability, safety, and customer satisfaction by improving performance of the operation.
+ Represents the Infrastructure Engineering Department and NJ Transit at meetings, presentations and regarding community relations issues, as required.
+ Manages department needs, including all personnel matters.
+ Provides direction to subordinates and establishes safety guidelines for work practices and procedures.
Education, Experience and Qualifications
+ Baccalaureate Degree in Electrical Engineering/Technology from a US Department of Education accredited college or university.
+ One year of closely related work experience may be substituted for each year of required education.
+ Six (6) years of applied experience in railway signaling, to include supervisory work and performance management.
