Manager - Regional Loss Prevention & Safety

Manages the development, implementation and execution of Loss Prevention programs in the assigned Distribution Center (DC) to maintain a safe working environment and reduce loss.

MUST HAVE: DC LP Experience Required

Major Activities

 Leads Loss Prevention team and Safety Programs to ensure company metrics are achieved.  Ensures compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), local, state, federal, and labor laws.  Ensures compliance with DC audit programs (i.e. maintenance, safety, and trailer/yard audits). Develops and implements risk control measures and exposures for potential liabilities.  Ensures inventory shrink meets the objectives.  Conducts internal investigations and/or SIRs of policy violations and/or accidents/incidents in partnership with appropriate business leaders.   Manages all fire/safety regulations, alarms, and CCTV to ensure proper responses and/or dispatching. Researches, verifies, and reports on facility health and safety trends including, but not limited to, incident frequency and severity rates.   Analyzes worker’s compensation claim metrics and performs root cause analysis.  Establishes and maintains emergency preparedness and evacuation procedures; i.e. crisis, emergency situations, natural disaster, workplace violence, etc.Other duties as assigned

Minimum Education

 Bachelors’ Degree in Safety Management or related field 

Minimum Special Certifications or Technical Skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) as well as proficiency with other related systems

Minimum Type of Experience the Job Requires

5 years’ leadership experience in retail safetyDemonstrated experience managing project teams and remote leadership

Proven conflict resolution and persuasion skills necessaryStrong time management skills with the capacity to meet deadlines and adjust to changing prioritiesWorking knowledge of Michael's SOPs and policies, or knowledge of relevant SOPs and policies in a similar work environmentStrong interpersonal skills both written and verbal with the ability to communicate effectively at all levelsMaintains confidentiality and always practices “Respectful Workplace” conductMust be open to work a flexible schedule, recognizing that support is provided to multiple-shift operations in person and remotelyMust be available for frequent business travel.  

Preferred Special Certifications or Technical Skills

Additional training/education and/or certifications such as OSHA, LPQ (Loss Prevention Qualified) or LPC (Loss Prevention Certified) are a plus

Work Environment

This position is based in a climate-controlled office but will have ongoing exposure to the warehouse, which features extreme temperatures dependent on external climate and proximity to dock doors/exits.Regular exposure to moderate noise level from DC conveyor/sortation system and powered industrial equipment when in the warehouse
