Job summary:

We are looking for Insurance domain experienced individual to oversee all financial reporting for US GAAP (SEC & NAIC).
A successful candidate will be responsible for preparing & reviewing various schedules to support reporting activities, financial analysis, financial reporting and assisting management with US statutory reports, schedules and working notes.

 

The Regulatory Filing Reviewer and Submitter serves as a critical component of our compliance structure, specializing in reviewing and filing regulatory reports for our insurance businesses. This position ensures all financial reporting meets the rigorous standards set forth by the SEC, NAIC, and other regulatory bodies. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of our company's financial disclosures.

 

Key areas within the Insurance department will also be managed by the Controller, including policy and procedure compliance, this role will require to work closely with controllership teams.
This role will also involve working with auditors, both internal & external and the individual shall be able to fulfil any & all audit requirements including process walkthrough, schedules, etc.

Prepare and submit quarterly and annual NAIC and SEC reports in a timely and accurate manner. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with NAIC and SEC regulations and reporting standards. Individual should have relevant experience with submission of 10K, 10 Q & 8K reporting standards. Individual should be familiar with various reporting schedules for NAIC reporting for both Annual, Quarterly & supplementary submissions. Coordinate with internal teams, auditors, and regulatory agencies to handle any issues related to NAIC and SEC reporting. Review the organization's financial data and arrange them accordingly to the NAIC and SEC regulations. Stay current with all changes relating to NAIC and SEC legislation; ensure these changes are promptly and correctly integrated into the company's procedures. Provide training to the team members about the latest NAIC and SEC reporting amendments and updates. Candidate must have prior experience in using SAP for accounting & reporting purposes. Knowledge of I-XBRL/XBRL for SEC reporting Serve as the primary contact for internal and external questions and issues regarding NAIC and SEC reporting. Shall be versed with concepts of US STAT reporting or Solvency II  Should have understanding for calculation on RBC (Risk based capital) requirements. Shall be able to fulfil reporting requirements for Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) filing. In-depth knowledge of insurance accounting principles and financial statement preparation. Precision and attention to detail in reviewing financial statements and regulatory filings. Strong analytical skills to identify errors and discrepancies in financial reports. Proficiency with financial reporting software, as well as with EDGAR and other relevant filing platforms. Exceptional time management skills to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple filing timelines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to liaise with internal departments and external regulatory bodies. Capacity to interpret complex regulations into actionable processes and to provide guidance on regulatory matters.

 

Skills And Attributes for Success:

CA, CMA or master’s degree in business, accounting, finance Minimum 16 years accounting experience in a senior accounting or financial management role with at least 10 years’ experience with Insurance client (Life & P&C) Strong interpersonal and communication skills Impeccable analytical and organizational skills Self-motivated and self-directed Ability to multitask, stay organized and prioritize deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Ability to partner with key stakeholders to optimize processes across the domain. Good interpersonal and communication skills Self-motivation and proactiveness in driving/delivering project deliverables. Ability to handle teams and multiple other stakeholders.

 

To qualify for the role, you must have.

CPA/CA/CWA/MBA/M.Com/B.Com with 12+ years of work experience preferably in life insurance industry or big 4 consulting firm. Strong Knowledge in policies and procedures for NAIC & SEC regulations and reporting standards. Along with good knowledge in Accounting, Finance, SAP, MIS etc. Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills.

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

CPA, CA, or similar professional qualification will be preferred. Proficiency in MS – Excel, MS – Office. Deep understanding of NAIC and SEC reporting requirements and standards. Must have hands on experience in reporting software’s prescribed by regulatory authorities. Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex financial concepts to a broad audience. Experience with Life/ P&C Insurance and preferably Big4 consulting firms.
