Manager - Renewable Site Development
Job Summary

Oversees technical aspects of renewable energy project site development, including planning and preliminary siting studies, project layouts, permit approvals, and contractor management. Coordinates financial and budget analyses to ensure alignment with project goals and objectives.  Coordinates with shared renewable resources such as landowner care and payment support functions, contract admin, and environmental studies. Provides guidance to leadership and project team. creates regular executive communications on the implementation of renewable energy projects. Maintains network of developers, contractors and vendors to support renewable energy site projects.   Span of control: Leads team of individual contributors. 
 

Key Accountabilities

•    Leads technical design aspects of developing sites for potential renewable energy projects, managing a portfolio of 30-50 renewable energy projects
•    Establishes and ensures all development milestones are met for renewable energy projects in the pipeline 
•    Prioritizes activities for projects in the pipeline and coordinates with the renewable partners to deliver successful projects 
•    Collaborates with Community Engagement team to support permitting for renewable energy project approval, including working with regulatory agencies for permit development and compliance requirements
•    Leverages team siting expertise for review of potential renewable energy build-transfers
•    Facilitates financial analysis, budgeting and cost control for early-stage development activities
•    Benchmarks renewable energy trends to support short- and long-term strategies for cost-effective renewable projects. 
•    Ensures the accomplishment of the following core supervisory/management functions for a given group(s) within a business unit: planning, organizing, directing the performance of on-going activities and/or special/ad hoc assignments, staffing (employee selections, training, coaching and performance management, time entry), coordinating, reporting and budgeting
•    Leads the continuous improvement commitment and efforts for team, including designing processes, establishing quality and quantity standards and metrics, collecting, refining, adapting, and communicating best practices, sharing knowledge, and developing staff in a systematic fashion; uses process design outcomes to solve problems
 

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements Bachelor’s degree in engineering  8 years of experience in any of the following areas: environmental management, project and/or construction management, and engineering or  5 years of experience working directly in  energy/sustainability space,  Other Qualifications

Preferred
•    Master’s degree in engineering, environmental or business
•    Direct experience leading various stages of wind,solar, or clean energy project development

Other Requirements
•    Proficient computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project) with the ability to utilize various real estate project management software
•     Ability to read, understand and discuss engineering drawings, specifications, etc.
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels within and outside the company
•    Ability to directly lead and supervise represented and non-represented employees
•     Working knowledge of safety and environmental regulations
