Responsibilities Ensures policies and procedures adhere to all governmental and payor regulations. Collaborates with management to develop productivity and performance metrics based on payors' complexity, responsiveness and claim volumes. Monitors assigned payors to ensure claims are being billed correctly and are paid timely and accurately. Takes appropriate and timely action when necessary to minimize potential write-offs and/or payor special projects. Responds to or initiates inquiries (internal as well as external) regarding the status of open AR including billed, unbilled or held claims. Routine and frequent contact with patients, payors and care centers. Keeps up to date on their assigned payors' billing requirements and initiates process changes as needed to comply with the payors' requirements. scoped to the collector and claims not assigned to a collector. Works collaboratively with other members of the Revenue Recovery team to promote teamwork and maximize cash collections. Monitors and evaluates employee performance. Holds employees accountable for the attainment of defined goals and objectives. Executes effective performance redirection when needed. Develops employees through coaching, mentoring and training (formals as well as on the job). Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Two years' experience in medical billing and collections. Demonstrated knowledge of medicare, medicaid and other payor's guidelines and reimbursement criteria. Proficiency in Excel application. Preferred One year supervisory experience. Bachelor's degree in business or related field. This position is based in our Baton Rouge office; hybrid is possible Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets and may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
